THE MALTA VIRUS


A new virus has been changing the DNA of the Malta map. It causes mutations to the settings, so every time you play it you don't know what the settings are going to be. This new virus has been named THE MALTA VIRUS and we must eradicate it from the face of the earth. The top scientists are working around the clock to find a vaccine for this deadly virus. The vaccine that wins will be mass produced and every human on the planet will get this life saving vaccine.

All vaccines must be tested against all possible strains of this virus. A total of 8 vaccines will be tried at once


The are several different variables that cause such a diverse viruse to flourish.

No fog/Fog
Adj/chained/unlim
flat/No/escal
This comes out to 54 mutatuons of this virus

The Vaccines that can kill the most virus strains will be announced and given to the world wide population. During testing each virus will be given points that are dependant upon how well they are against that particular strain

Please submit a vaccine name if you are one of the 8 in the tourney

I have posted a list of the games on pg1 so all I need is tourney privs and we are ready to go

I plan to have 8 games going at a time so once a game ends I will make another and so on until all 54 games have been played

I will be making no card cames more early on since those take the longest but I will try to have a decent mix at all times

first off i need the password to join

by army count do you mean whoever has the most armies on the board at the time the game ends ? if so i do not like that idea.

the reason is player 'a' might have attacked his target earlier in the round and fallen agonisingly short only to have player 'b' eliminate his target because then player 'a' gets the lowest rank just because he had a go at winning when others were stock piling.

and total number of armies you had throughout the game is not fair because it does not consider your opponents strength/weakness or your relative positions on the board ie. access to target.

like soccer might be fair. zero points for getting eliminated. one point for not getting eliminated. three points for a win.

that way if two players had the same number of outright wins the winner would be decided by whoever had the least number of eliminations (most draws). if they are still even on points then there could be one 1v1 game (or assassin game if three or more tie) to decide who will go thru.

to bring it into the context of the game
- a win is 'a successful antibody develops' (3 points) or it could be 4 or 5 points
- not eliminated is 'the potential for an antibody developing' (1 point)
- eliminated is 'fatality likely' (0 points)

if 2 or more players finish the round on the same number of points then the scientists will need to re-examine the potential of only those players. one elimination game 1v1 if 2 players, 1 assassin game if 3 or more. you, the lead scientist, decide the options for that game.

anyway those are my thoughts on scoring this. now as mentioned in that first line so long ago, can i have the password to the lab.
