Concise description:

The ability to purchase a chance to change ones username. I'm not saying make it an unlimited option, maybe limit it to once per every so often, or maybe once per person?

Exactly as stated above. A chance to buy the opportunity to change ones username on the platform.
I do feel there should be a subsection that would list players previous usernames, that way there would be no confusion as to who it is.


How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:

How would it not? It would lessen the chances of someone making multi accounts just because they don't like their username they picked. It could possibly bring more players back, because who wants to play under a username they don't like?
And it would be more income for the administrator/owner.
More income means you could do more to the site, and with the mods that wouldn't be hunting multi accounts they could have more time to help grow the community.

How about putting a asterisk next to the name so you have an idea that this might be someone you don't want to play.

Or are you illiterate and couldn't read the whole no multi account rule when you set up your account?
Or are you admitting to having multiple accounts yourself because you didn't like the usernames?

Because nothing is free in this world, except for pets, women and children and last I checked I was a grown man that had to work for everything I wanted.
If that means paying 10 bucks to change my username that I set up when I was barely near adulthood to keep playing on this site then that few bucks is the sacrifice I must make.

Mainly because only minor changes are allowed unless it’s related to IRL name, then can be changed. But ultimately it’s not allowed even if you ask nicely.

The owner indicated it could be an option via the store if there was community support.

Yeah I bet he did, he's hardly going to object to something that is going to give him more money. I know several players who've changed their name in the past (I just can't remember who they were except for me who started off with a bunch of letters and numbers) but the fact that you can do it is not widely known.

We're already paying a subscription charge for a site that currently has broken links, passwords being compromised, and keeps breaking down. CC is a wonderful site when it's working but unfortunately it is going down the pan - start charging for user name changes that used to be free will just piss players off even more than some of them are at the moment, and if you think it will entice players back that have already gone you are living in la-la land.

In the 17 or so years I've played on this site no one has been able to make major name changes.
The only way people have been able to change their names is to make a new account, and that violated the no multiple accounts rule.

This possibility would be more so leaning towards someone changing their username and paying for it, and keeping their account.
I'm not trying to just give up my account Ive had for a few years longer than you've even been on the site.

That's why I'm trying to push for this as a possibility, that's why I took the time to put a whole suggestion in the proper way.
I didn't put a whole suggestion in for someone to complain about the possibility of the owner making money.


Ya know, when I played in 07 and 08 there were like 18k ish users, and now we are down to around 3kish.
Are you throwing out suggestions that would help the owner close that compensational gap of the income from then to now?

At this point in my life I've contemplated it.

But ya know what, sometimes a person has to be a jerk due to someone wanting to argue against something that they have absolutely no clue what they are even talking about. Patience wears thin easily.

And you saying that plenty of people you know on here have changed their name.. how exactly? They would have to go through administration, and the admin hasn't offered it as an option.
Hence me wanting to suggest this in the first place.

But you throw out claims with no evidence, and proof of someone just making another account and breaking the rules..
Because let's be honest, that's the only way to change your name as of still, and that's not what I want to do.

I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings with truth but I was irritated with false statements. There was only 2 people I ever knew of that had significant changes to their names and that was over a decade and a half ago.
I'm pushing to make that a possibility for everyone.
And if it takes money to do it, so be it. Nothing is free.
But it's going to take community support to actually make it a possibility.
I mean if I can't change my username on here I don't see myself extending my membership. 4 games at a time would be fine with me at that point. I mean the ads will annoy the piss out of me, but oh well.


I want this to be a possibility for everyone. And asking nicely isn't going to cut it. That's what you do with your partner when you want an extra hundred bucks to spend, then it might work. On here to make this happen it's going to take fingerwork and dedication.
If you don't want to be a part of pushing to make it happen that doesn't hurt my feelings, but trying to argue against it when you have no actual cons to throw towards it is completely pointless, and way childish.
