I think what should happen is that as soon as you have completed a game with a n00b that you should give them good feedback. When they read it they will begin to think they are a good player and want to continue. Thats what hasppened wwith my brother anyway.

Sounds like a good idea to me. At very least it provides the rest of us with an indication that a new player is actually playing games.

You mean like: "Did not deadbeat despite being a bloody n00b"?

The other thing that I like to do to that I find helps a lot is when I see that a player is new to CC, in the chat I write something like "Hi playername, welcome to conquer club". Since I started doing this I have had very few deadbeats in my games.

I do the same thing. Always welcome them in game chat.....and make sure by private message that they know what they're in for if they've joined a terminator game....or an rt game.......
I find that telling them about all the info available on forum threads, and offering to answer any questions they might have go's a long way to preventing deadbeating as well.
Its also useful to explain how quickly their rep will get toasted if they do deadbeat.....

Once they realize we were all noobs at one point, most will do the right thing. And we don't want the ones who don't anyway do we?

how about if he asks u questions: about cards , forts , etc..... u dont tell them "GFY"??? thats the only way u can help them...then take their hand and give them some real pointers about the game...
