i have had confusion in the past on when/where bigotry is ok or permissible on the site. However, the Bigotry Guidelines were created and the escalating scale was introduced through community efforts and all was right in the world. Now, apparently, Bigotry is allowed at certain times. When you ask? Oh, like this past April Fool's day. Apparently the admins/mods did not foresee members flaming/baiting/trashing other members and the constant stream of bigotry. so, instead of doing what is right and issuing warnings and moving people up the scale, they are deciding to ignore it.

CC created an atmosphere of tolerance towards racists and bigots during April 1st through their actions, and i am greatly saddened by this.

Many of you won't think this is a big deal, but it is. Bigotry is never "OK" and "a pass" should never be given. Team CC needs to step up and punish the offenders. the comments still stand and are still visible!!!! WTF team CC?!!-el Jesus negro

Bigotry is acceptable when myself or others use it, however if you use it, it will be a violation of the forum guidelines and you will be accordingly punished.

I agree with owen on this. I do not think a pass should be given for this activity.

I agree as well. I can perhaps see giving a pass on some of the trolling, but bigotry should never be acceptable.

Agreed, I didn't report baiting flaming trolling etc as I assumed those were "in jest" for the most part and would likely result in a pass.

Bigotry even in jest hasn't ever been acceptable as far as I know, and don't feel it should be given a pass - which is why I reported it.

Yup, bigotry shouldn't be tolerated in any instance. The offenders got away with one.

It should only be tolerated when it's hilarious. I demand substantial punishments for all those who used the paddle on April 1 and failed to amuse me.

Thanks for taking another look and listening to the community. While I know the ruling could remain, I appreciate any efforts in further discussion after the community speaks up. the scale for infractions includes warnings etc I would assume for situations like this or other "unintended/accidental" etc occurances.

I appreciate the additional review & discussion regardless of the final verdict.

i don't think there is any other outcome than what is correct. you can't pick and choose when to enforce bigotry guidelines. bigotry isn't any less painful to those subjected to it on certain days. saying the volume is too large is lazy. if they let this stand how could they ever enforce these rules again without being questioned. "why was it OK on the 1st of april but not the 23rd of September?" glad for the review, be a bit happier when it is dealt with properly.-el Jesus negro

+1 bigotry being allowed is not acceptable, and when the next person gets hit for being a bigot, says but so and so wasnt punished why should I be. There isnt a precedent that can be used if these guys are punished now.

By the way nodaloyalist went wild with that crap. Mostly against one group,but irrelevant, Bigotry has always been a no no and should remain a no no.
