Rick Santorum: "Hey! I'm a racist just like Ron Paul!"

Rick Santorum, desperate to remain relevant even though he never was, made a massively racist statements on Sunday in an attempt to replace Ron Paul as the preeminent racist candidate for President.
What do you guys think? Do you agree with Rick Santorum that black people are an inferior species to Rick Santorum? Who's more racist, Ron Paul or Rick Santorum? Is there a difference in their racism? Which racism is better for America and the rest of the world, Ron Paul's, which gives detailed instructions for murdering black people and getting away with it, or Rick Santorum's which wants to watch black people die of disease?

Rick Santorum took his dead baby home from the hospital and played with it on the floor and made his living children watch so that they knew the dead baby was once a human being...WTF?
Karen Santorum wrote a book about the experience: Letters to Gabriel: The True Story of Gabriel Michael Santorum.[121] In it, she writes that the couple brought the deceased infant home from the hospital and presented the dead child to their living children as "your brother Gabriel" and slept with the body overnight before returning it to the hospital. The anecdote was also written about by Michael Sokolove in a 2005 New York Times Magazine story on Santorum.[1] Karen is also the author of a book on etiquette for children.

Although, to be fair, Obama did the same thing with Bin Laden's corpse, not that the biased lamestream media is going to tell you that.

it's threads like these that make me think dave is just trying to parody the racist liberals. there's literally no way someone can be stupid enough to think that santorum was being racist in that clip.

It certainly looks like racism, sorry J9B, albeit of the casual thoughtless kind if I'm being generous. He's singling out a group of people, solely based on their race, for a policy which would affect people of any ethnicity.

... The libs are forced to reach, I know, but this is pathetic.
... Santorum said, I don't want to make better..lives.. people's lives better...... The word black never came from his mouth. He got tongue-tied. He does it again at the video end when he speaks about getting the manufacturing economy rolling.
... He's speaking about Medicare, to old people. Somehow, some desperate lib thought they heard the word,"black" (regardless of its absolute irrelevance to the topic addressed), and cried racism.
... Limp, this is truly pathetic. I know you're just a troll, but at least make an attempt to entertain us, you know, "Tea Party Death Squads" and all that.

... Yeah, I just listened to it again. It's a tongue-tied thing. You will hear no "ck" hard consonant sound (the ending of "black") come from his lips. It was a mix of "better" and of "lives". Obviously a prepared speech that he failed to practice for appropriately.

he said he did not want to make black people's lives better by stealing from another group.
he could have said "orphans" instead of black people and i still would stand behind that statement. stealing from others is a crime regardless of who does it.

Apparently you blanked on the word "people" entirely.
That's ok though, embedding youtube links really helps out my argument here:
You'll want to skip to about the 35 second mark.

No problem. PD's source looks pretty similar, and also has the word "people" following on from "black", as in he says "black people".

Nobunaga, why are you calling me names? There's no reason for that, just because I'm pointing out how corrupt and racist your favorite political leaders are.

I believe alot of people are racist they just hide it well, It doesnt matter what color they are, they have resentment against other people in one form or another. So rather than argue over who is the most racist you might try arguing over who is the least and vote for them.

I found a Christmas message from Ron Paul's grandchildren!
Here is what comes up when you type in Saga, like that little kid said to do:
If Ron Paul becomes president, this is the type of thinking that will begin to poison the American psyche. All those years we spent on trying to mend racial relations and civil rights will be for nothing!
IOWA! DO NOT VOTE FOR RON PAUL!

People only hate Ron Paul because he isn't a psychopath.

I personally feel that some of these candidates still only even have a chance at winning the nomination, because enough people believe the world really will end in 2012, and they might as well speed up the process.

I fully agree, the only reason to even mention black people is if you're under the assumption that it is they who are the only ones who are seeking money for welfare.
In any case, its mostly a red herring in my opinion, the actual numbers on welfare, compared to the massive bailouts, and tax breaks for the massively wealthy make talking about cutting welfare to help the country about as useful as worrying about the small leak in the right rear tire, when the engine has one quart of oil in it. Sure, you ignore that leak in the tire too long and youll be in a jam, but if you dont get a few more quarts of oil in that engine quickly, that car will never run again.
I enjoyed writing that analogy, but Im going to be the first one to say that its both perfect, and silly, but you get the point.
Id write more, but Im having a little santorum issue I feel I need to deal with, thats more .....pressing than this one.

Well on some level its possible that all people are somewhat racist in some way. We naturally do tend to feel more comfortable with people "like" ourselves and that spans a much greater number of factors than race. However, the important thing, is that intelligent people, understand that race has absolutely nothing to really do with the abilities of a person, and while they may even feel some kind of resentment, which really is actually just "fear", they do not give into that fear and let it affect their decisions, and certainly work very hard to act as if that fear is not important, the way they do with any fear, so that they can be well adjusted members of society.
The reason racist acts and racist statements must be brought to light however, is that it highlights that a person isnt even willing to try to overcome any residual or in some cases, outright resentment and unfounded fear, and because such people should very much not be leaders of a country, that was founded and built by a great number of people of different races, and must be able to compete with countries with workforces that dwarf our entire nations population. If a candidate assumes that one race simply wants to leech off the system, because they are a different ethnicity, they cant possibly understand the actual complexities of the system itself, which has led to a situation, where people must actually ask the government for food, so they can feed their children.
Unfortunately, it is a complex problem, and explaining that to a country that does not prioritize education, is a difficult thing to do, so the easier cheaper route is of course taken, and at a detriment to every single one of us.
Our founding fathers would indeed be ashamed of us. They worked very hard to set up a system that would not be corruptible, and we corrupted the shit out of it in no time.

is it true that black people as a group are disadvantaged in our society? if so, then what is wrong with addressing them as a group?
