Stars win and they're in as they try to sweep the Wild tonight.
Blackhawks failed to clinch against the Redwings today.

In spite of the win streak that still gave them a shot at making the playoffs,
Dallas got spanked in Minnesota and gave up an empty netter at the end
just to add an exclamation point to a crappy season. 5-3
Last year's champs back into the playoffs.

My bad. I'm too lazy to write "Penguins don't suck, but the Capitals do" though.

Ovechkin's goal shouldn't have counted. The ref should've called the play.
Semen's shot was ridiculous though. Staal fucked up badly on that play.

Debatable... the puck was still in play, I can see why they could have called it b/c the goalie was getting harassed and he may have had control, but the biscuit still crossed the line before the whistle was blown, one referee signaled goal, and the puck crossed before the goal was thrown off its moorings.
And yeah, fucking laser-beam shot by Semin.

One last point... we pinged the iron about 3 times in the first period, it could have easily been 1-0 or 2-0 after 20, it should have been.

I agree, you guys beasted in the regular season, but honestly, I think it comes down to how well Pronger produces, if he comes back.
Hate to keep using the Caps as an example, but Mike Green's game Wednesday was about what you need from Pronger to do well. 26 minutes, a few shots, a few blocks... and obviously, Pronger is a much better defensive presence against the top player on any team.

The guy is insane. No one can do what that man does. He's really underrated. Detroit is lucky to have excellent players on this team for the past 20 years. Once Zetterberg get back, Detroit could be primed for a run.
