What do you think is the best current TV show? I'm going to exclude ones that are over because I don't want to try and compare Full House to .....
EDIT: Just tried to create a poll and it fucked everything up. yay I got it fixed

Family Guy
Futurama
American Dad
I'm not even sure if these are still going. I don't watch much tv anymore. But I liked them all when I did watch more tv.
Also, all of those shows you listed are good, except for Breaking Bad, I don't know if it's good or not, as I've never seen it.
I don't think South Park should be on the list though. South Park used to be freaking awesome. Their newer episodes haven't done much for me. At least the ones I've seen. I pretty much quit watching it. I love watching the older shows, like Season 1-11, and the Gay Fish episode, whatever season that is in, on southparkstudios.com though.

I'm not going to make a poll yet until we get an idea of what to nominate. Give me some ideas. I'll start.
Mythbusters
House
South Park
Breaking Bad
Simpsons
There's no way you'll get consensus on what the poll is going to be on. I think you should make a few different threads, each with different categories (cartoons, sitcoms, dramas, learny-stuff [aka Mythbusters]) and then we can take the winner of each of those and put up a final poll.

mrs. thegreekdog and I enjoy The Good Wife, Parenthood, and NCIS. Apparently, we're old.

I haven't seen the bolded shows, but something tells me you mean whipped, not old.

I guess I am too, as NCIS is perhaps my most favorite show.

Yeah, I rarely watch TV anymore, but when I do, Mythbusters and Top Gear are definitely my top two favorites.

NCIS is an easy choice for a near perfect combination of humor with enough seriousness to care about.
I suggest any who have time check out Justified as well. It has some of the best and unique dialogue in a TV show you will probably ever see.

We have a winner. No need to discuss anymore.
And as for the thread starter. The Simpsons hasn't been good in 10 years, great in 15. South Park hasn't had a great episode in a few years and is good at times. House-no. I'll give you Breaking Bad though.

CIS is pretty good, as is Criminal Minds (or was), but I rarely have a chance to watch them any more.
(my son/husband are into "Sons of Guns" -- my husband watches, my son sees it taped)

In terms of British stuff, if it makes it over to America,
Being Human (after a bad second series, and yeah I know about the remake)
Outcasts (after a poor first episode)
Are both good at the moment.
Otherwise, Charlie Brooker's How TV Ruined Your Life is great at the moment too.
Oh- and Misfits is pretty fun too. It's essentially Heroes, but with
Chavs.
