I was on my way to junior high and heard some reports on the radio in the car with my dad. We really didn't learn anything that day as every teacher had the tv on in the classrooms, watching the events. We got dismissed early that day.

I was on my way to work after a long weekend of partying. My Birthday was three days prior, and we had a household full of young party-goers (plenty of hot little chickies!). Anyway, it was September 8, 2001 and I was having a Martini Party. Somebody brought a whole bunch of Ecstasy and I got a hit. Well, as the X was taking effect, I had just finished one of my martinis and the lights went out. In came my friends holding a big Rainbow Whipped Creamed Marble Cake. They placed it in front of me on the Breakfast Bar in the Kitchen. Then I heard somebody say,"Hey! Where's the Candles? You guys forgot the candles!" Nobody had any candles, but my younger brother was there, and he pulled out two plastic Martini Sword Olive Skewers from my empty martini glasses. He place both Swords standing upright side-by-side in the Rainbow Whipped Frosting. He then asked his girlfriend for a lighter, and he lit the tip of the plastic swords. Amazingly, they held a flame just like a candle! At that moment, the X was starting to take effect and everyone in the room started singing Happy Birthday. As I was starting to trip out, the singing started to become more and more subdued in volume as my focus was on the Two Martini Swords that were on fire. I watched the flames melt the swords and little drops of melted red plastic would seemingly drip down the side of the swords and splatter down on the whipped creamed frosting below. As I concentrated on the birthday cake, it changed into a city street and the two Swords became two Skyscrapers and the blobs of plastic became little screaming people that were splattering on the streets below! The Buildings were on fire! Then I heard my best friend say,"Make a wish, Creepers!" So I did...I wished the World would End.

This all happened in Gilbert, Arizona on September 8, 2001...Then I was at my telemarketing job on September 11. I watched the second plane hit live on Television at the office. I was by myself that day.

I had just gotten to work in Hauppauge Long Island. Watched it all from the cafeteria television and then went home. It wasn't until that evening I discovered that my next door neighbor had been working in those towers and was then "among the missing." His widdow and children eventually sold the house and moved a few years later.

But, it's important to remember that 9/11 isn't just some thing that happened nine years ago. While people died in those towers and firefighters died trying to rescue people, those who survived dropped anything to lend a hand. One person owned a water bottle company in Manhattan. He went back and forth giving water to those who were trying to dig through the rubble finding remains. They told him it was "safe" (they were lying of course). Today he is dying and needs a double lung transplant or he will probably be dead before the end of the year. The Federal Government fucked around with him and put enough red tape to keep them from liability. (One example was when he was called to a meeting to examine his case; he was on oxygen and brought two bottles with him for the interview. Then they claimed they "lost" the paperwork and had to "find it." His first bottle was depleated and finally his second bottle was running low so he had to leave. They then claimed that he was the one who "terminated" the interview and thus was ineligable for anything. Fortunately he got in touch with his congressman who managed to get the agency to "find" that paperwork and process it.)

I was in 5th grade getting ready for school and my aunt had the T.V. tuned to Univision. I saw one of the buildings smoking like crazy, but that was it. I really didn't comprehend what was happening. It wasn't until I saw more new reports that I started to understand.

I was just north of Houston Texas on I-45 when the first plane struck.
The initial radio broadcast was unconfirmed and the announcer was
in total disbelief that such a thing could actually be happening.

I was at home with a few toddlers, halfway listening to the radio. When I heard about the first hit, I ran to the TV to turn it on, and watched the second plane hit, plus, of course replays. I prayed, as did millions of others, gave the kids some extra hugs and was thankful that the ones I had there truly were too little to understand the images. They sensed something from my attitude, but instead of acting out, were unusually quiet.

When the parents came, most had been at work and not seen the images yet. Normally, of course, they get their kids and leave as quickly as possible. That day, they ALL, every one, stopped and looked at the TV , watching the replays for quite some time before leaving.

This.

Also, it was my 21st birthday, which was the worst I've ever had. It still would have been the worst even without the attack. It was just a bad time in my life.

I was sleeping after working the midnight shift. I woke by radio alarm at 4:00pm to: "that's 4 hijacked planes...."

I was at my University, on my way to the cafeteria with a couple of friends when someone told us. "Estan atacando las torres gemelas de washington!!". Lol.

I went to my apartment to follow the story on the news. I couldn't believe it. I think since then nothing normal happens on the west.

I was in Germany with the Air Force. I had worked the night shift the night before, so I was home in bed when it happened. Wife woke me up crying.

So does that roughly translate to "Twins of washington are attacking the towers!"?

I had taken my wife to work, she phoned because her Dad phoned her and said "A plane had hit one of the Towers of the World Trade center in New York." I figured it must have been a small plane. I turned on the Television and watched the rest of the day waiting for what would happen next. I watched another plane hit the second tower. An remember when they reported that the fighters had shot one down. Then that became unconfermed, and eventually the reason for it crashing was unknown. I don't think that supports the concept that the whole thing was an inside job. I think it would sugest more to me that the Military was actively trying to stop the planes.

I am still kind of surprised there was only the 4 planes involved.

I was in my history class in 7th grade. My history teacher always had the news on in the morning for the first part of class. When I came in, I saw on breaking news that one of the towers was smoking. Everyone was thinking it was a freak accident. Then we watched as the second plane hit the second tower. The room was silent, other than the occasional "f*ck." For the rest of the day, it was pretty quiet. Soon, talk started about what would be next.

in school, heard about it first online, then our class listened to the radio for a long time. spent the rest of the day at my friend's house where we invented conspiracy theories about who did it. (he's hardcore conservative now btw)

I was getting dressed in the locker rooms when P.E. was done in Junior High.
There was an announcement made over the intercoms.
It was pretty surreal.

In class, political science if I remeber correctly. Sometime in the middle of the class, people's mobile phones started buzzing and there were some discussions about a plane having hit a WTC tower. Remember I assumed it was a cesna or something. Stepped out and saw the skyline filled with smoke. Went down there once the sub opened in the afternoon, had to walk from 42 second street downtown, managed to get onto Wall street before the blocks became to difficult to go around. Pretty surreal, everything was covered with ashes.

... I'd just arrived at my GF's place after a tiring train ride and wanted nothing more than to sleep (an early morning the following day). She had it on TV, the first tower had been hit. When I saw the second plane hit I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

... Stayed up all night watching, like most people did. NHK (Japan's national broadcaster) just turned the channel over to Tom Brockaw (sp?), so at least I could see and hear what was happening in English.

... It was an odd feeling. My eyes saw it happen, but my brain refused to believe it.

I was in high school at the time, and my friend who had a locker next to me said that terrorists crashed airplanes into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the White House, and that "we're done". I found out the truth in history class (the White House was safe) and saw the second airplane crash into the WTC on television. I also saw the towers fall live. As they fell, I remember watching one of my classmates praying fervently, while I was cursing the Muslims in my head. (I was in high school, remember). I also seriously thought that Armageddon was coming.
