I liked this comment:
"Amazingly, I now see Conservatives defending a gay bar and Liberals defending a "House of Worship" (quote from Huffington Post comments). Greg has accomplished an Omega level troll."
lol

One of top ten ideas of all time...
1) fire
2) the wheel
3) language
4) ships/boats
5) the steam engine
6) the printing press
7) the US Constitution

the microchip
9) electricity
10) putting a gay bar next to the mosque at ground zero
(no particular order)

So wait...is his argument that because Muslims are likely intolerant of gays that it is OK for him to be intolerant of Muslims? I mean, I'm sure that there would be protests...but what does that have to do with anything?

It's sort of backwards but I think he was saying, that if we are tolerant of you [muslims] you have to be tolerant of the various ethnicities and sub-cultures of America.

I suppose if your view is that the only reason the mosque is being built is to "rub their nose" in whatever, then I could see why a proper "retaliation", in your opinion, would be building a gay bar next to it.
If that's your view on it.

No, it's not about "rubbing their noses" in anything - it's called "exposure" or perhaps "debunking the bullshit".
Islam is without a doubt the most intolerant, oppressive religion on the planet. Have you ever read the Koran? For any muslim to talk about "tolerance" is a fucking joke. Putting a gay bar next to a mosque would simply be one way for everyone to see how "tolerant" they are.

north africa is notorious for gays, don't you people know anything. they'll probably have a secret door from the mosque into the gay bar. the iman will be gyrating his leather hot pants to the scissor sisters whilst spending his welfare 5 minutes after ranting and raving about "the infidels".

I always wondered about Sudan. Islam is definitely anti-gay, but you're right - there's a whole lotta sugar bugars in North Africa. I don't think they have any gay bars though. Go figure.

This is an awesome proposal. I hope that N.O.W. would have a field office set up close by so they could walk in front of the muslim men on a daily basis.

I'd agree (although I wouldn't limit that to just Islam). Still, that doesn't mean we should fight against the practice of their religion.

What if they build a Baptist Church next to the Gay Bar that's next to the Ground Zero Mosque?
Then what if they build a Mosque next to the Baptist Church next to the Gay Bar that's next to the Ground Zero Mosque?
Then what if they build a Liquor Store next to the Mosque next to the Baptist Church next to the Gay Bar that's next to the Ground Zero Mosque?
Then what if they build an AA Chapter next to the Liquor Store next to the Mosque next to the Baptist Church next to the Gay Bar that's next to the Ground Zero Mosque?
Then what if they build a medicinal marijuana dispensary next to the AA Chapter next to the Liquor Store next to the Mosque next to the Baptist Church next to the Gay Bar that's next to the Ground Zero Mosque?

You build a Liquor Store next to the Baptist Church and those poor folks are screwed. Only thing worse would be a dance hall. <grin>

Obviously, this would be the first gay bar in the area, right?

Well clearly. Everybody knows downtown Manhattan is pretty underdeveloped.

Detroit is like the hairy, greasy armpit of that fat truck driver that no ones wants to get close to because of the smell.

I think saxi should be a civic planner, he has obvious talent here. Just make sure you get a qualified engineer to handle the services.

Would it matter if the engineer was Muslim?
