And if Jesus was the son of god why did he get killed in such a painful way? Couldn't he have avoided that with his god powers.
Okay,
Jesus lived to die. It was the plan. Yes, He could have avoided it, but then the plan wouldn't have succeeded and nobody would be able to have their sins forgiven.
The way that you phrase your questions gives me the feeling that you've never read much of the Bible and therefore have no idea what you're really arguing against, but that's just how you're rubbing off on me.

No actually I was leading into something.
Couldn't God have forgiven humanity's sins without getting Jesus killed?

Basically, the reason Jesus had to die for our sins was so that we could be forgiven and go to be with the Lord. Jesus is God in flesh (John 1:1,14; Col. 2:9) and only God can satisfy the Law requirements of a perfect life and perfect sacrifice that cleanses us of our sins.
All people have sinned against God. But, God is infinitely holy and righteous. He must punish the sinner, the Law breaker. If He didn't, then His law is not law for there is no law that is a law without a punishment. The punishment for breaking the Law is death, separation from God. Therefore, we sinners need a way to escape the righteous judgment of God. Since we are stained by sin and cannot keep the Law of God, then the only one who could do what we cannot is God Himself. That is why Jesus is God in flesh. He is both divine and human. He was made under the Law (Gal. 4:5-6) and He fulfilled it perfectly. Therefore, His sacrifice to God the Father on our behalf is of infinite value and is sufficient to cleanse all people from their sins and undo the offense to God.
Rom. 8:3-4, "For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh. 4in order that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit."
1 Peter 2:24, "and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed."

If God is all powerful then he should be able to forgive the sinner regardless of punishment or not. That's the nature of being all powerful.

God did have the power to forgive without the death of Jesus, but then the Bible prophecies of Jesus would not be true, making it so we could not trust Him. But God stuck with the plan to send Jesus to die for our sins, so therefore you should believe the entire Bible as the direct and true Word of God.

1. I believe you mean 'here' not 'her'.
2. I'll post here, for now, because this keeps manicman from spamming my recruitment thread in the Callouts.
3. If you don't want me to post 'her', give up, because I'll post as long as I feel like it.

GOGOGO thelewis!
You have to love it when someone new comes along and brings up all the arguments (again). Go ahead and answer him, Caleb.

Well, having read Caleb's posts, and having read and finally understood some of Jay's more delicate arguments, I have had an epiphany of my own and have decided to convert to satanism. So these threads have had a purpose after all.

(chuckles)
1. dinosaurs: were pre-garden of Eden. They had become extinct before the creation of man.
2. immaculate conception: um yes, back in those times it was common to wait till marriage to um, do the nasty.
3. Jesus 15-30: He grew up. There are a lot of things not in the Bible. Could you imagine how much bigger it would be if everything was in it?
4. Missing Gospels: There are no missing Gospels, the ones in the Bible are the ones God wanted there.
5: Poking holes: You could go on all day making ridiculous statements but you haven't yet poked a hole.
