Winning a game

Hi there, I'm very new to the site and have only finished a handful of games, but I was wondering why in a 3+ handed game the winner seems to be the player who kills the first army rather than the one last standing? Is this the type of game I've been playing, or is this just the rules of all conquer club games?
Thanks in advance.

It sounds like you may have been playing an assassin game where each player has a "target" and you win the game by being the first to eliminate your target opponent. You might want to look for a "standard" game which is the "last one standing" rule.

Actually, all his games are standard. So I don't know what he means.

No in both my games with more than 2 people I have lost without my armies being fully defeated. Another army has been taken out, which has spelt the end of the game. They have been standard games as far as I know

Here's your first game, 3 players, you were eliminated first. You were completely killed. The person who killed you then took your spoils and used them to kill the other opponent.

Game 6027390

The other game you have completed is this one, 4 players, one opponent kills another, takes his spoils, and cashes them in to kill you, and (one turn later) the other opponent.

Game 6042876

You were definitely all the way dead in both games.

Ah, ok. Thanks for checking that out. I didn't realise that you can pick up somebody's spoils and use them in the same go so I hadn't looked that far back. That makes a lot more sense now, thanks very much for your help

No problem, and that's the key to standard escalating games. Eliminating, cashing mid-turn, and eliminating again. The sooner you learn it, the better.
