New tournament thread: Vodean's Low Rank Feudal War Tournament 2

[spoiler=round1]It will be a round-robin tournament at the beggining, then an elimination later on. Starting with 24 people playing 12 games each. I will divide up the groups (6 of them) using random.org. Every game will be best of 3.
There will be three full group games, and 3 1v1 games. Preemies, only sorry (you will need more than 4 games). In the 1v1 games, there will be points distributed; 3 for a win, and 0 for a loss (best of 3, so only 3 points per match-up). Each group match will be worth 3 points for the win. First and second place both advance. That's a total of 12 people advancing.

well, not really, but in my first attempt, the likely winner became a major b4 the tourney started, and is undefeated.

What ever happened to wanting to play the best to get better

I do not have a problem with signing up with a particular rank or range, but the disqualifying because someone does well and rises in rank should not be allowed. All that will do is give a free pass. What happens if the finals are set and one or both of the players rise into the captain rank. Do you give a free title or no title at all?

It is the best solution. the 2nd best player would go through, not the worst, and i've seen it done several times, but mostly with deadbeating.
