TC, my point is that killing off those we THINK are townies and letting live those we HIGHLY suspect are Mafia is NOT helpful to townie position. If we let a quiet townie live, we know 1) he does not harm the immediate game; 2) we can NOT invite him to the next game; and 3) we do not give Mafia an edge in the numbers. Killing off townies hurts townies and helps Mafia.

As far as TC staying quiet,

1) I doubt it;

2) I do not know the role of Mafia since I am NOT ONE; so

3) how much Mafia is supposed to talk is NOT known to me, so

4) I cannot answer the rhetorical question that you posed.

crasp, confirmed mafia, voted quite a bit when he was alive. I would be inclined to think a few of the people he voted on are not mafia... like:

mithriadaties
killuminati
DB4

This goes against how I have felt about DB4, but I will shelf following these guys for now.

People whom I think are townies:
mtamb
archer3base (I have seen something he posted that caught my eye as scummy, but his play is consistent with a townie)
gabsensei (has not been on my radar since his "no vote" joke)
jusplay

People who I think are on the same team:
Killum and mtamb (mason buddies?)
DB4 and CHECK

so, if we ever find that any of these guys are scum, I believe the other person would be scum too.

People whom I think are somewhat scummy:
CHECK (although he seems to be putting out some townie vibes lately)
qbert (did have a thing against crasp, which helps his case)

This is by no means all-inclusive... I still have some research to do. Like King Ed posting like a mafia super-star on page 32, or referring to a "we", which I didn't understand. Why would he say "we"? Who does he know?

DB4 contradicted himself on pages 12 and 14, and generally looked scummy early on. crasp also seemed to endorse him, which worries me, because he also voted him.

CHECK and DB4 seemed connected earlier, and now they are being more silent toward each other... need to do more research here as well. CHECK was also convinced that Ragot was scum... WRONG!!!
This is quite a good post... I really don't have much to add except that I'm positive TheCrown is a townie. I've also thought DB4 was scummy from day 1 but it looks like it's time to move on from that.

Why do you think mtamb is a townie? I haven't really gotten much info from him either way...

here is the disappointing part: nearly 12 hours and NO one has posted since Archer?

My understanding of this game (I am playing my first one) is that chat in this thread makes the game; very little chat is happening and that really takes the fun out of this game......

There is a difference between being relatively quiet and not posting at all. Czar was the latter. For those who want to keep lynching quiet people, we are 0 for 2.

Ok, after going back and doing a lot of reading I have found some new things that stuck out to me. Here goes:

crasp, confirmed mafia, voted quite a bit when he was alive. I would be inclined to think a few of the people he voted on are not mafia... like:

mithriadaties
killuminati
DB4

People who I think are townies:
DB4 - 99% sure
Gabsensei - 90% sure
mtambur - 90% sure
Mithridaties - 90% sure
Killuminati - 85% sure

People who I think are on the same team:
DB4 and CHECK

People who I think are more likely town than mafia:
archer3base
Elsuper bano
jusplay4fun

This is whom I'd like to check out and get a claim from:
CHECK-M8 - subliminal posts/trying to get someone to OK him to hammer(so he can blame them, but he was the one that started the voting on Ragot, so why would he say this?)/Falsely accused archer/Says he is sure Ragot is scum or we could lynch him
Cump Sherman - weak reasons for voting/hammered Ragot
King Edward 3rd - Could have hammered DB4, but didn't/Don't know what to make of him
qbert68 - last to check in/skimming about finding out who died/DID vote for crasp
Akamiro - very silent

SOOOO, here is what I think we could do from here:

1. Killuminati was voted on by crasp, and he also claimed mason. We can confirm he is a mason by seeking out the other mason. This is not that dangerous, and odds are both would be town, or at least one.

2. We could get CHECK to claim. He has defended DB4 repeatedly, so I don't know what to think of that.

3. We could get Akamiro to claim. He's just plain quiet. I don't think we should lynch him, but he needs to participate or be replaced.

4. Qbert did something very scummy, and if he was an experienced player, he would have been lynched immediately. I don't know if to pursue this or not.

I guess my top 2 prospects at wanting to claim are the wildcards:
King Edward
Cump Sherman

Oh, and any questions, let me know... I tried to make my last post as brief as I could with the info swimming in my head.

I removed the possibility of killum and mtamb being masons because mtamb suspected killum at one point.

DB4's activies was a strange one, but I think I got him figured out. He said something that was in my role PM, and there was no way he could have know that otherwise. Without saying too much to expose either of us, I will just leave it at that.

You're missing the point. If you take that approach that those who are silent will be safe, then the mafia will just shutup and be added to the list of the quiet ones which will insure that we NEVER catch them. We HAVE to show the mafia that we will lynch those who are quiet just to get them talking.

BTW we didn't lynch because we thought they WERE townies, we lynched them because we didn't know for sure who was and who wasn't and if we lynched someone not active it gave us a chance to get a mafia, and if we were wrong there was very little loss because that player wasn't helping any way. Nobody voted to lynch thinking he WAS townie.

I am townie. You can look at my early voting. I aligned early with DB as townie and when Archie voted against him, my first vote was on Archer and it stayed there until it became clear we were going to lynch Ragot. That was a mistake but I felt the crowd was screaming for the final vote.
I admit that I tagged DB in day 2. I did not feel I got a good answer as to why he would vote himself. I voted on him and kept my vote there.
Since day 2, I am totally convinced DB is as townie as I am. My reasons are stated on p 49. I should have done my analysis before day 3, but I didn't and I can't change that now.

If you are asking that I declare my exact role, you would be helping the mafia. Of course, if I did state my role, it would be obvious who the mafia was by their vote, wouldn't it?

King Ed is probably my top suspect at being mafia now. I can't get over the feeling that Akamiro is staying silent for a reason. Will wait on others to talk.
Read through Pg. 40 & maybe you'll understand like Tuffy did before he was killed
this was my claim did any of you read all of pg. 40 I'll tell you my roll but it won't help either groups ;)

I disagree with CHECK-M8; before the last Lynching several said that they thought he was likely a townie, but the OVERWHELMING sentiment was to get rid of the non-participant, whatever his role.

I'm trying to show people what I think without taking the lead here. I don't see people with a lot of ideas on what to do, so I how long do I wait before anyone starts a campaign on someone?

TC,

Since we are getting NO where fast, you may want to take the lead here.

Crump has responded to your inquiries, but otherwise there is almost no discussion.

I will say that I was leaning toward DB4, as my first inclination, but recent posts have made him less suspicious.

At this point I really do not know whom to vote for, other than NOT to vote for myself.

I haven't went back and looked at every post but all I remember was some players saying that it wouldn;t matter if he was townie or not since he wasn't active. That is not the same as saying they thought he was townie. I can't imagine anyone voting for him if they KNEW he was townie. That just doesn't make sense, to me.

My point is the we should be seeking to find out and eliminate Mafia. Isn't that the point of this game?

Eliminating (voting to lynch) those who are quiet and TURN OUT to be townies DO NOT help the townies.

Rather than lynching likely or suspected Mafia, a SECOND quiet one was lynched. We are 0-2 on the lynching (as someone, Killi? said) and that does not help the ratio for the townies.

Yes, Killi said we are 0-2...quote below. I agree with him on his MAIN point that many seem to ignore, do not want to admit, or find this point harmful to their situation.
