i prefer john9blue's version most as he hasn't gone for a crayonny effest like the others he's gone for the effect there is in google earth apart from the spelling mistakes that one looked fine

Thanks. I would have put in a crayon effect if I had continued the draft. And I've accidentally called it Google Earth before too.

Also, the spelling mistakes were entirely intentional.

Well, you don't listen to us most of the time when we offer suggestions. Not to mention your graphics/ideas are god-awful. I've liked 3 of the alternate maps presented in this thread 100x more than yours.

Sorry, but from what I've seen in the past I will not be holding my breath for you to create something that looks awesome and playable.

No offense, but if there are more than 3-4 small "Doodle" maps then it becomes very repetitive. Much of the appeal of Doodle Earth is in its simplicity and originality. Since you and LZ are so adamant on having no gameplay features whatsoever, it's going to be like 5 more Doodle Earths.

However, since unoriginal cookie-cutter maps have no problem making it through the Foundry, I suspect this will be quenched within a month.

Well i am about to post the first of the package and yes it has the same idea but very different game play.

I believe what he means is that when you look at doodle earth, you can see that it was computer generated and all the lines are fine, even and clean. When I look at your map, it actually looks as if you took some crayons and doodled it, I assume this was done on purpose.

Yuck. Your names are random. The continents on Doodle Earth aren't that badly drawn — there is definitely resonance back to the real continents. The font is wrong. Your note at the bottom is … pointless and wrong. The title is the only thing I relatively like, and it's sad that's your handwriting

Yes dont say Congo a million times please... lets get some real names... and lets make this on the computer and not by hand I think this is a good idea... i say you get the space completed then continue with the rest of the maps.. And Zeppliner, dont copy the earth map... just firgure out how he did the lines and make your similar..

im doing Americas right now, how about just copying the basic outline of the continent, or would that still be bad. Leave everything else blank and make new territs and bonuses

It looks like a stomach. These maps are going to have to be pretty stellar to go very far.

You guys might want to think about going back and reading through the original Doodle Earth thread before continuing. evil dimwit took a LOT of flack on that map, and its development was a difficult and contentious one...
