The final scoring formula is up...basically tweaked slightly to give a bit more weight to the bench and to keep shooting percentages and point totals realistic.

If you win 4 of 7 maps you will most likely come out on top, but your opponent will still have a chance...remember the starting five score more than the bench maps. If you win 5 of the 7 maps...it would be near impossible to lose.

All right...we've hit the first benchmark I was hoping for when I re-opened signups...48 teams now registered...(if it ended today the top 16 teams would have first-round byes).

It's officially a 50-player tournament, so the top 14-ranked players on the list will have first-round byes...not a big fan of the byes, but the tourney needed a deadline.

Shooting percentage formula and shot accrual charts have been updated (finalized)...note Haiti replaces Madagascar as a slightly bigger map to give a bit more emphasis to bench play.

I'll post an updated sample boxscore late tonight when sending out games.

First round games for the East Region have been sent out...I won't get to the rest of the bracket until late tonight.

Midwest Region also sent...last two pods will go out tonight.

Look for updated scores late tonight or Thursday morning...battling Louisville real time right now and will calculate scores after the family is in bed. Lot of good battles going so far.

Got busy tonight so only had time for updates on the West and Midwest scoreboards...the rest will get score updates early Thursday.

We have a couple finals tabulated...the biggest surprise is the bottom seed in the tourney #13 Wisconsin pulled down a 65-62 upset over #4 John Jay College. The press conference in ongoing...look for news Thursday.

Also #7 Portland State beats #10 Louisville 83-59 and #4 Cincinnati beats #13 Rutgers 80-45.

Unless I completely misunderstood the scoring, I am totally going to get blownout in the first round.

I hope you'd consider running this again. I'd like to experience more of it.

Not having [player]amazzony[/player] as my opponent next time would help, too!

I am considering a short season tourney of some sort, involving teams from the defunct ABA and CBA pro leagues...it would run with the same or very similar format to this. So look for that in a few week jwith and in season play you'll at least get more than one game in

Sorry, though I can't ban amazzony from joining, so you'll have to solve her high-level of play on your own

It was a fun first tourny Still getting a good strategy down. Kinda on a losing streak right now, but it's all good, it's all for fun. Thanks for the tournament, Flex, I really enjoyed it and I'm definitely going to join in with any other tourny you plan on running (if I pass the admittance).
