Ok, the lie was that Saddam had WMD and was capable of shooting at us within 45 minutes. That was what Colin Powell said to congress.

Then we find out that Saddam didn't have immediate access to WMD. Sure, we found 500 units of bioweapons, where were they before Saddam was captured? Where was this imminent, limb-rending threat that we were facing? We knew he had the weapons (after all, we gave him the weapons). The lie wasn't that there were weapons, the lie was that the weapons were battle-ready and could reach us in under an hour. That was the lie, Jay.

Oh, and those little mobile weapons labs that were on the news. The ones with all the neat little arrows showing what was the storage tanks and where certain parts were put together. The mobile labs that turned out to be a hoax. No one remembers those it seems.

Why is it that we aren't allowed to talk about the failings, crimes, and/or lies of this administration (like the vice president committing attempted manslaughter) but you're allowed to harp on about Chappaquiddick and Clinton getting fellated by a white house intern?

Funny, I don't remember Powel saying that. I do remember Bush saying after 911 that Saddam posed a threat (AS did Kerry, Hillary and a ton other politicians) because Saddam could give WMD's to the terrorists and they in turn could bring them to the US and use them. And THAT is the reason I remember for going into Iraq.

And where was the evidence of this connection to Al Qaeda? Hm? I even went as far as to check Fox News to avoid your "liberal media" strawman. And if they didn't report that evidence then it must not exist.

And Clinton committed perjury, ooooooooooooh. Yeah, that's a war crime. And even then, what did the republican-led congress do? Censured him. That's it. If it was such a major blemish on the office why wasn't he stripped of it?

Bush has violated the U.S. Constitution's clauses on the seperation of powers, restricted congress from access to government survelliance programs, used signing statements to circumvent bills that he signed into law, and singlehandedly crippled the civil liberties of the American people.

And Clinton lied under oath.

Have you ever been hunting or gone to a shooting range? The ones with the guns stand in a line, shoulder-to-shoulder. The only way he could've accidentally shot someone standing next to him while he was pointing his gun downrange was if the guy jumped out in front of the gun as he fired. For him to have shot this guy (and have the spread of shot that he had) he would've have to have been at a distance and in front of Cheney. The only way he could've mistaken that bright orange vest for a quail was if he was stone drunk.

The point is, regardless of whether or not it was an accident, if some random schmo had accidentally shot someone in those same circumstances he would've been arrested and sent to prison. That's the law. I don't care if he's the Vice President or the Sultan of Shishkamakistan. If you are inebriated and you shoot somebody that's involuntary manslaughter. That's a felony. You go directly to jail. Do not pass Go. Do not collect apologies from the guy you shot.
