Well if they are called Portals then remove 10 and replace with the word portal. Or just refer to them as 10 and let the legend inform of how portals work. Your choice.

I am ok with the whole names being spelled out if they fit? If they do not fit, I also had abbreviations in mind just in case to save room if needed. have a look for the main 10 clans

Black Sheep Squadron or BSS 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, etc
The Spanking Monki's or TSM 01, 02, 03, 04, etc
EMPIRE or Emp 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, etc
Legends of War or LOW 01, 02, 03, 04, etc
The Legion or Legion 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, etc
Imperial Dragoons or ID 01, 02, 03, 04, etc
Immortal Assassins or IA 01, 02, 03, 04, etc
The Odd Fellows Union or Tofu 01, 02, 03, 04 etc
Angels of Death or AOD 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, etc

or you could have the whole name of the clan listed under drop points land and then the abbreviations for the other lands, whatever is easier?

super, thx for the XML, however, the foundry will only issue 2 medals, that will be rewarded to myself and Kab if approved, hope this is ok with you, you will get you name on the map though WM, can you add his name to the map Kab for xml? Also, I think we somehow need to give a special thanks to grifftron for all his efforts and support as well, if possible.

and NO, we do not have a small map yet. At least, not that I am aware of. Let me know if whole clan names fit, if so, we can go with that. also instead of drop point, maybe homeland? What you think?

Some updates now.

Small version not ready yet, some work yet to be done there - I will not do it this weekend, though. I'll be out - with internet access but no design tools.

Blitz, you need to start deciding on some specifics now.

There is a +1 bonus for every 2 standard regions.
From what I have done of the XML so far, the log will say "Blitzaholic recieves 20 troops for holding 40 green regions". Is that okay, or would you rather it registered under a different name (as it's easily changed at this stage)?

I'll soon need to know how many neutrals you want each on every region to begin with and a conclusive statement on the region naming. At the moment I'm using BSS, TSM, TOFU, IMA, IPD, AOD, LEG & LOW 1-14 (again, easily changed if you get back soon).

The choice you have of renaming "TOFU 10" to "TOFU Portal" had better be made soon, as that will be a bugger to change when I really get going.

The clan grounds territories look kinda funny. The bevel isn't quite working there... I think it's the black outline that kinda spoils the illusion of depth. I'd say if you made the edges of them blend in smoother to the surroundings, without that black outline around it, you'd get a better & clearer 3d effect on them.

call each 10 a portal, that is fine. Tofu Portal, Thota Portal, etc.

Why change it from TOFU 10 in the first place? The key ably indicates that it's a portal. The more use of icons over text the better really. Or is this discussion for the text that appears in the game log, in which case great.

- Why only use upper case for 'World'? Either use 'Lost World' or 'lost world'

- No need for a colon at the end of the sentence, it's not the start of a list.

Actually, I'm inclined to agree with you. Names shouldn't change. Especially because the portals regions will be part of region pairs bonus. So they should keep their numeration as well.

Actually never discussed it with Blitz, but the way I've done it in the legend board - only connected with the Portals area, making no reference to deep portals - suggests, as I think it is, that only portals will be part of those bonus.

Natty, I've tried them without that outline... and definitely doesn't make it for me.

So, can't we have the full names in the XML after all? It would be much simpler.

For now at least, I'm using the full names with the exception of "The Horsemen" instead of "The Horsemen of the Apocalypse", simply because it is too long.

Blitz, how would you like the naming of the additional Clan Grounds to work (KORT or Knights of the Round Table)?

I think we would like the full names if they fit for each clan. The abbrevations were just a back up idea if we needed space. I guess the key shows they are portals, so , perhaps it is better to just call it Tofu 10 instead of Tofu portal, because it is explained and seen as a portal already, so leave them as Tofu 10, and I prefer the name clan grounds to clan base better, as well as the word neighboring as opposed to adjacent.

It sounds better... but eh. When I think about it, do you need to mention the world at all? Something like, "Clandemonium - The fight for dominance has begun..." has a better ring to me when considering your theme.

The background in the legend looks like steel treads, and I think really clashes with a fantasy themed map.

The steel plate looks cool, but maybe a more natural surface would fit better. Marble, granite, brick and mortar, or maybe even a burl wood that has a shinny surface. That would certainly go with the "shinny" theme going on.

Bunga all portals and clans grounds will have 7 neutrals, then pinnacle with have 7 neutrals, the pinnacle resets at 7 on the start of that next players turn, all clan homelands or drop points start with 3 neutrals and have an auto drop of 3 per start of every turn, then all other lands are 2 neutrals.

this is all found on page 1 of 1st post.

As for the map itself, their is 10 main landing auto deploy points which would be the 10 main clans we have to start with from JPcloet's ladder rankings. The rest will be neutrals, some castles now named "Clan Grounds" would have more neutrals (7) and the next 10 clans in line would get there clan name on them, at least your clan may be represented on the map even though you may not have a starting point, you would have a bonus area. Also the clan portals can only attack same colored clan portals and No Mans Land portals and go into other lands. As for No Mans Land and Pinnacle I think its pretty clear on the Key what those will be, and of course like the key says the bonus would be +1 for every 2 clan territories you own from any clan region, and +3 for castles now named "Clan Grounds", this would replace continent bonus's. Also, if you own any 3 portals +2, 4 portals +4, 5 portals +6, 6 portals +8, 7 portals +10, etc. Note also, +2 for every one no mans land territory owned. All clan portals can attack No Mans Land portals and clan portals can also attack other clan portals with same color, this means No Mans Land portals cannot attack clan portals as the clan portals is only one way attack to no mans land portals.

Kab and others, the way it is so far, deep portals or not, they are still portals, so own any 3 portals and +2, own any 4 portals +4, for each additional portal owned after this it is +2.
