How is it that teams have played a different number of games, and how was the schedule made up versus the real college basketball schedule? I just took a look at the Pittsburgh Panthers actual schedule versus the schedule I played so far in this tournament, and there are quite a few differences Just curious how you did it - regardless, this is a great CC tournament and the stuff you've done on this thread is definitely appreciated, it's fun to check out the newlsetters and the bracketology.

Panthers faithful hope that the committee will take into consideration the fact that we came out of the gate 0-5 as some of our blue chip freshmen took a little while to get adjusted to campus life and the college game, but have been on a strong roll ever since.

Also - what maps will be played in the NCAA tournament?

Apologies if some of this is already addressed elsewhere in this thread, and thanks again for all the hard work.

Fresno State's four-game winning streak comes to a crashing halt against No. 18 Oregon. The game was a foregone conclusion from tip-off to the final buzzer. The Bulldogs must finish the last few league games in perfect form to have any hope of making the Dance.

Easy-N-Dirty...

The conference portion of the schedule should follow the real teams exactly for leagues that are full...for the combined leagues that is not the case.
The nonleague portion of the schedule should include some of the main matchups for most teams, but couldn't be fully replicated because we don't have the full allottment of NCAA teams represented.

The neutral maps and scoring formula for the Big Dance will be released sometime during the conference tournament week.

Arrggh...Portland State makes the trip to San Francisco, but is quickly run out of the gym on the Arms Race! map losing in five rounds and we were lucky to play that long. After losing three of its last four, coach flex has put his team on lockdown.

"This no curfew idea I came up with is not working at all," flex said. "When we return to the Park Blocks, I'm padlocking the gym and no one leaves until we get this thing figured out. I'll bring tutors in, I'll bring sandwiches in, I don't care what the NCAA has to say...I'll bring new players in if need be"

All right everyone...standings have been updated through Thursday night.
Here's how the conference races are shaping up...

• The tightest battle is in the Big Sky where Portland State has lost its grip and now shares first place alongside Montana State and San Francisco. The top seven teams are seperated by only 2 games, making this league anyone's for the taking as we move into the final weeks of the regular season.

• The Valley Division is a battle between Illinois State and Wichita Statem, while Houston and Memphis fight for first in the CUSA Division.

• Air Force has won seven straight to take the lead in the Mountain West/WAC, although the Falcons remain only one game ahead of pesky New Mexico.

• The Big East has turned into a two-team battle between streaking Pittsburgh and fading Villanova, while Clemson has held the ACC lead most of the season, but has a handful of teams barking on its heels down the stretch.

• Top-ranked Rhode Island holds the biggest cushion, needing just another win or two to wrap up the Atlantic-10 crown. Kansas State also has a sizeable (3 games) lead in the Big 12, and with just one league loss #3 Bowling Green appears to be the class of the MAC.

• Michigan State (Big-10) and Oregon State (Pac-10) holds 1 1/2-game leads in their conferences.

• The SEC is shaping up for a wild finish with defending NCAA champ Auburn making a late charge in the West Division pulling into a tie with long-time leader Alabama this week. Kentucky leads the West Division with a slim lead over Tennessee, beating the Vols in a game earlier this week.

*** As teams start to clinch spots for the conference tourneys, I will include that seed number next to their school name in the standings.

They may be barking at my heels, but that just puts them in line for a mule kick. =D

Game 4093927

Clemson takes out one of their main rivals in the Tigers' race to the ACC regular season crown in 14 rounds, dispatching NC State in Raleigh. A game of more power than speed, as the big men came out and laid down the lumber more than once in the paint...and by the paint, I mean the O-territories.

All right here are the neutral maps for the March Madness tourney...I will post this in a better format sometime early next week along with the scoring system for the tourney. Remember this is only for the March Madness tourney...the conference tourneys and NIT tourney will be a one-map shot played on the higher seeds home settings.

For March Madness...each game will be broken down into three segments (maps) The first and last will be played on neutral maps (flat, chained, sunny) to represent the neutral courts used in the NCAA, while the middle segment will be played on the higher seeds home map and settings to give some advantage for earning that higher spot.

Once we reach the Final Four...each team will play on their home settings and a neutral map will be used for the final segment.

Here are the neutral maps...the red marks maps used for the first and second round games, and the blue marks maps used in the Sweet 16 and Elite 8.

West Region
Africa/Germany
Italy/North America

Midwest Region
Montreal/Civil War
Soviet Union/France

Northeast Region
Tamriel/South America
USA/Alex's Empire

South Region
Canada/Iberia
WWII East/Europe

Final Four
San Francisco

*Note any team can be sent to any region, just because you play in the SEC doesn't mean you will be designated only to the South Region.

Game 4071906

Clemson dispatches Miami, FL in 11 rounds to solidify their hold on the ACC lead.

In the old days before the expansion, the ACC had a play-in game to the tournament, one that was annually referred to as the "Clemson Invitational." Funny - nobody's accepting the invite anymore. =)
