True, even with Juice Williams at QB, Illinois (3-9) was the doormat of the Big Ten this year but notice that after beating the Wolverines at The Big House the point margin hasn't been much. With the exception of the game at rival and current #4 Cincinnati which was 13.

Navy has another opportunity to roll over Army tomorrow.

And now the greatest option quarterback IN THE HISTORY OF THE GAME (tm) is the head coach at the University of Kansas. Back in the Big Eight where he belongs.

It was painful watching Navy's offense in that game so many blown opportunities. I ended up turning it off after the first half. who won?

The one guy on ESPN made a big deal about how Gerhart didn't get it simply because the university he attended. Valid point but I think it had just as much to do with this year's Heisman winner's National Title implications. Think about it the only time I cn remember the Heisman going to someone who wasn't involved in the NC over the last 5-6 years was Tim Tebow and I'm sure that's often the case. I"ll have to do the research later.

The votes for the top 3 were very close and helping Alabama reach #1
and the National Championship game has to be Ingram's biggest edge.

It also seems that the Heisman winners don't win the Championship,
so this may be a blessing for Colt McCoy and the Longhorns.

I personlly don't buy into the Heisman jinx. 2005: Texas just outplayed USC that year end of story nothing to do with Reggie ZBush's Heisman. 2006: again florida was simply just better than Ohio State. 2008: Florida outplayed them nd Bradford choked under the pressure. I don't buy it has anything to do with a curse. 2004: No Heisman curse there. Long story short I just don't really buy into superstition. I feel that both teams wnt to win this gme badly and yheh texas could win. I just think tht alabama is the better team and probably will win.

I believe not picking up the Heisman hardware might just add a bit of extra incentive for a team to work harder, because even though it is an "individual award," it takes an entire team's effort to make it happen. Mark Ingram is a big contributor to Alabama's current status, but it took a lot of players to get to this point.

So... I don't see it as a jinx... just additional team unifying incentive
not that any is needed... but every little difference helps.

I couldn't be happier that Nebraska gave us a tough game and showed us exactly what we need to do when faced with All Star DL's. Or the fact that Ingram got the Heisman.

Part of me wants to doubt that Saban wont let his team get fat and happy over both of these things, but he can only do soo much, and I think Texas will come out January 7th and be a bit more then Bama will be ready for, and McCoy will be ready to show that his name should have been voted a lil more.

While I dont disagree with the conclusion of Ingram getting it, I feel it will add a lil needed inspiration to Texas.

In short Bama overlooks a very talented longhorns offense, and Texas wins by 2 scores.

Alabama's defense IS Nebraska's defense. Alabama's offense is NOT Nebraska's offense. I think Texas gets beaten by at least 10 points, honestly.

Honestly, Saban doesn't let that get happy. And the fact that you were big with Texas and TCU figures that you think Texas would win

For someone that whines all the time about "English?" in these fora, your English skills really do suck. Stop being a hypocrite.

Then again, you're a Bama homer calling him a Texas homer, so I guess there's not much hope for that happening.

About the only team I don't see getting throttled is TCU. But, they and Boise got shafted and are now playing each other.

It seems the only people who really seem to think that Texas will win are the Texas fans...The reason I don't think Bama will overlook Texas is that I think Alabama feels disappointed in the way their season ended last year and they want to win it all to make up for it. So they'll go into this game with just as much motivation as Texas. On top of tht I tend to believe that long breaks for teams to prepare for a game tends to help defenses a lot more than it helps offenses. Third, I highly doubt that Bama will overlook Texas is Saban has that team well-disciplined both on and off the field and I just don't think he'll let his team overlook them. Finally the way that Alabama beat Florida shows me that they are the best team in the country. Bama beats Texas by 1 to 2 scores.

TCU vs. Boise: is this the BCS's way of trying to prevent another upset where a non-BCS school beats a BCS team to prevent further discreditting of the BCS bowl system?

Yes, it is 100% a cop out by the BCS. They were well aware that TCU and Boise State would have a rather good chance of both beating BCS team, especially if the matchups had happened as predicted (TCU vs. Florida and Boise State vs. Cincinnati). They didn't want to run the risk of two upsets, so they made it impossible to even have one. Appalling on all fronts. There is no valid argument as to why those two teams needed to play each other in that game.

As for the championship game, I think either team has just as much a chance to beat each other as the other one does. I don't see it being a blowout, and I don't believe that Alabama is all that much stronger than Texas to be honest. I believe it will be a rather tight game.

That's what I, the general consesnus of the MWC fans, and the general consesnus of the WAC fans believe. Considering the beat down that Utah gave Bama last year and the what not.

you like the rest of the world are making the assumption of Alabama being soo dominant because of the last game that everyone witnessed for both teams.

Florida vs Bama & Texas vs Huskers

  • Bama barely beat the Vols with not 1 but 2 blocked field goals.
P.S. The Vols went 7-5 this season and were never ranked
  • Bama got some bogus calls to help win the LSU game.
  • Bama escaped barely against Auburn due to the last drive of the game where Auburn held the greatest player in 09 (Ingram) to 30 yds and no TD's.
P.S. The Tigers went 7-5 this season

Texas had 2 games all season that were won by less then 10 points.
1 being a Conference Championship game against a 9-3 Nebraska team and 1 being against Oklahoma.
