I love this song and have played it many times, but I only just recently realized the title is a quote from my favorite book! Ha! Some bibliophile I am!
Underoath - "It's Dangerous Business Walking Out Your Front Door"
popped up on my youtube feed while i'm doing some promo work...
how many of you remember the day U2 took over the world? yes, the
link work despites that tape thing showing:
even better, they almost broke up backstage, because they thought
Bono f'd up, because they didn't play PRIDE (In the name of Love), which
was getting air time in america. Bono went home, thought he had let his
friends down, they planned to fulfill their commitments in America and then
end it all... they arrived the biggest band in the world... conquering heroes.
i love rock history...-Jésus noir
p.s.-even the chick Bono pulled out of the crowd is still famous in england!!
p.p.s.-this was the first time they were able to pull off BAD live, they had been
working on it forever and never got it right. they hated the recorded version.
ahhhh... F the superbowl... having fun without it... anyway, Bowie omitted the first verse for YEARS, to the extent that casual fans didn't even know it existed... love this live version... the band is in the pocket, he is full of life and joy and looks as if he is genuinely in the moment...
great song... the banter before is super cool, but i didn't want to bog people down with 3min of chat before the song starts... bowie... sigh...-Jésus noir

does it get any better? if any of you don't know who daniel lanois is, look him up... gets a full share of U2's money, as the 5th member... he took them from damn good to amazing on Joshua Tree... a lot of the sounds/moods/snakey arrangements you associate with U2 are lanois.. here he is throwing down on guitar with Willie Nelson on his own song that he asked Willie to honor him with, by playing it on Teatro (the album lanois produced for willie, arguably one of his best)..
