Hmm? I guess so... Florida's record against Alabama is 14-21-0
Florida has won 8 SEC Championships and 3 National Championships
Alabama has won 22 SEC Championships and Claims 12 National Championships
of the 17 credited to the Crimson Tide by the NCAA.

Also... Bama football alumni have accumulated a lot of Super Bowl rings.

Yes though both of you are mistaken to bring history into this. I believe Michigan is among the top 3 winningest teams of all time in college football, finished the season 5-7 this year and had the worst season in the history of the university the year before. Tennessee isn't far behindd them on that list of wins, yet flirted with the worst season ever last year ( I believe had to rally from behind in botrh of their last games to prevent a 4-8 or even 3-9 record) and haven't been an elite team this year either. Same can be said of Notre Dame.

I was simply pointing out a few numbers for 0ojakeo0.

Of course the Michigan Wolverines Football traditions and accomplishments are huge...
  • Highest all-time winning percentage in NCAA Division I-A football history (.738)
  • Most all-time wins in NCAA Division I-A football history (877)
  • The most winning seasons (110)
  • The most undefeated seasons in Division I-A football (25)
  • One of only three schools with a winning record against every Division I-A conference
  • The 1901 Michigan Wolverines football team is the only undefeated, untied, and unscored-upon football team to also win the Rose Bowl without being scored upon.
  • 11 National Championships and 42 Conference Titles.

Tennessee has 6 National Championships and 16 Conference Titles (13 SEC).

5. Nebraska 44 (22-22)

Tim Tebow seemed to be the only one on Florida playing the the intensity of a true champion. He may not be the best play in college football, but he has a huge heart and love for the game. Anyone with that much heart gets my respect.

Bama vs Texas - Bama by 13
Florida vs Cincy - Cincy by 3 (they are hot right now as opposed to Florida's heartbreaking loss)
TCU vs Boise - TCU by 21
Iowa vs GaTech - Iowa by 5 (Iowa plays better on the road)
Ohio State vs Oregon - Oregon by 12

I may give Tebow a hard time but i'll also be one of the first to admit that you are right.

I can't see Florida or rather Tebow being satisfied losing this game. It's his last game as a Florida player and I think he will play his heart out and get his teammates to rally around him. I just can't see them losing this game.

Wow. BCS pitting BSU and TCU against eachother. What utter BS. At least TCU is returning a lot of starters next year and should be in the running for the NC.

I don't know what anyone else thinks, but I'm of the opinion that defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh from Nebraska should be the front-runner at this point. Yes, that's right...I said defensive lineman.

The unfortunate thing is the Heisman tends to be an offensive trophy (a shame really as there have been defensive players in the past who deserved to win it or at least make the final cut). I don't know enough about Suh's actual stats to say if he deserves it.

Well, he's going to NYC as a finalist, I just found out!

So they invited Tebow because of sympathy? there's no way he deserves itthis season. I don't think McCoy will get it he did lead his team on the game winning drive but his performance overall in that game was lackluster with it being his last performance before Heisman picks that I think it'll probably rule him out. Suh has hadd an outstanding season and an amazing performance in the Big 12 championship to get there and if they overlook the fact that the Heisman almost always goes to the offensive side of the ball for once is a very legitimate contender for it. Gerhart has had a heavily impressive season at Stanford and I think is another highly legitimate contender. And finally Ingram was the heart and soul of the Alabama offense and racked up impressive numbers in the SEC Championship.

In the long run I think it's probably going to be between Gerhart, Ingram and possibly McCoy (outside chance). Unfortunately for Suh I think Heisman's gonna stick withthe offensive tradition.

I think it'll be Gerhardt (winner), Ingram (second) and Suh (third)...but I might be a bit biased.

The TCU vs Boise State matchup is a letdown as they met last year in the Poinsettia Bowl where the Frogs upset them by a point. This is a better TCU squad than a year ago and while I suppose it's a chance for the Broncos to return the favor as underdogs this time out, it's still disappointing that the Frogs didn't draw a bigger opponent. I do believe TCU could give Alabama, Texas, Cincinnati or Florida a tough game as they are balanced and good in all phases of play.

Suh (2009 Bronko Nagurski Trophy winner) and Cody both are dominant defensive lineman that impact every game they play, but I doubt either of them had a legit shot at the Heisman. Only one defensive player has ever won the award, Charles Woodson of Michigan. With the #3 scoring defense it wasn't a surprise at all that Nebraska gave Texas a difficult game. Unfortunately for the Huskers the Texas defense was equally impressive in the Big 12 title game allowing only a couple first downs (5 total) to start and end the game for Nebraska.

If the Heisman goes to a running back it's definitely between Gerhart and Ingram, although Clemson's CJ Spiller has also had an awesome year and probably should be on that list. Of the QBs... McCoy still stands out, Houston's Case Keenum tossed five TDs in a losing effort to ECU in the C-USA title game.

Running Backs wrote:Gerhart (Stanford 8-4) 1736 yards (311 carries) 26 TDs
Lewis (Pittsburgh 9-3) 1640 yards (297 carries) 16 TDs an amazing year for the Freshman RB

Spiller (Clemson 8-5) 1145 yards (201 carries) 11 TDs

Suh will be a tough one to replace next year.

Here's something else to ponder, without the BCS and under the previous system
the pairings might be...
Old Bowl System wrote:Rose Bowl: Ohio State vs. Oregon
Orange Bowl: Nebraska vs. Florida
Sugar Bowl: Alabama vs. Georgia Tech
Fiesta Bowl: TCU vs. Boise State
Cotton Bowl: Texas vs. LSU

and Cincinnati would be fitted in elsewhere
since the Big East didn't exist back then.

I've seen some ideas tossed around for a play-off system, with like the top 8 or 16 teams, 2 brackets, and they work themselves up to the NC.

And Wyoming and Fresno get to kick off the Bowl season on the 19th! Though, the MWC forums just got flooded with FSU fans thinking that they could match up with BYU and Utah quite well (never mind their porous defense that just might give the Pokes an edge). And this game makes it 2 were the WAC faces off against the MWC, and a majority of the MWC came from the WAC (Gang of 5-Wyoming, CSU, AFA, Utah, and BYU).

Lets see... Fresno State (8-4) ended the regular season with a win over Illinois 53-52 while Wyoming (6-6) bumped off rival Colorado State 17-16. Sounds like the Cowboys defense has their work cut out for them to finish this year on a high note.

You also need to look at the lower half of the WAC. They really don't have much there. And Fresno's Defense (according even to their fans) really kind of sucks, especially against mobile QBs, which Austyn Carta-Samuels is (noted as a dual threat on Scout and has proven it against Utah, CSU, and SDSU for starters). I personally think it is going ot be a slug match, as our team, though ranked low statistically, has shown incredible grit (other then the losses to BYU and CU).

There's always a chance for a defensive player, Charles Woodson did it with Michigan in 1997, who beat out Peyton Manning of Tennessee.
