Probably because 95% of people who care about credit ratings work in US companies.

You sound like a president of Argentina.

When Italy has to pay 1.8% interest to borrow money to pay for streetlights versus the 0.2% the U.S. pays for the same money, they care very much about credit ratings. When Italy sends the bill to Germany to pay, so does Berlin!
mrswdk wrote:The US couldn't subjugate a school of dolphins these days.
And yet, with just a few keystrokes, a U.S.-owned and regulated, New York-based company, headed by the scion of a great American family - William Randolph Hearst III - just cost the Italian government tens of billions of dollars and guaranteed five years of austerity for 60 million Italians, something even Italy's own president and prime minister don't have the power to do.

Updated again. Getting closer.

"So far I think China is trying to be... somewhat transparent with us, but we're going to find out," Trump said. "It's a terrible thing that happened. Whether they made a mistake or whether it started off as a mistake and then they made another one or did somebody do something on purpose."

Flashback to God's first mention of the virus.
March 22, 20

I see all and know all that is going on in the world. My heart breaks for the pain that has been caused throughout the world today. Many people suffer from a virus that was created to hurt and cause destruction to many. My world that I created is in the grips of this virus.
March 27, 20

The evil that has been perpetrated on the world. My heart aches for the souls lost from this evil that has been unleashed on the world. I call all hearts back to me at this time of great evil.

Obviously God isn't talking directly to Trump then, only to you. Wouldn't it be a better idea on God's part to talk to him direct? What makes you so special?

I am with you from now on to the end of time itself. I have all you need for the journey. I come to lead my people back to myself. I call all hearts back to me once again like I have since the beginning of time.

My mercy is there for those who ask for it and accept it into their hearts. I call all people to come to my merciful heart before it is too late. I draw those close to me even closer now than before. Evil is lurking seeking souls to take with him, many have already been lost to his allurements and follow his ways in this world. I come to warn of the great danger that is ahead. There will be many lies being told to cover many evil deeds.

I call upon you to carry out the mission. To tell through the words I speak to you. I have a great many blessings for those who do my will.

Go now in my peace and my love.

So why is he speaking only to you? Are you that virtuous? are you a modern Noah? And if so, why didn't he warn you in advance like he did for that worthy gentleman?

President Trump has decorated 23 year-old Letter Carrier 2nd Class Kyle West of Coleiran Township, Ohio with the Benjamin Franklin Medal, the second highest decoration of the Post Office, for his exceptional service during the China Virus! West has been assisting elderly persons on his route with special deliveries and is even going to stores to pick-up things for shut-ins beyond his normal schedule.

MASSIVE protests in Huntington Beach against the Rat Governor Newsom's lockdown orders!

Image

The Governor, fearing that the Rats' grip on California may be loosening and that the state may fall to Trumpsim, has buckled. Realizing he has no forces available that are loyal to him to actually enforce his orders and risks looking like a paper king yelling into the wind, has pledged to modify his fascist commandments.
California governor promises changes to lockdown as protests sweep state

California’s governor, Gavin Newsom, promised “meaningful” adjustments to stay-at-home orders in the coming days as thousands of protesters gathered across the state in defiance of the lockdown.

Demonstrations took place from the capital of Sacramento to San Francisco and San Diego, while large crowds turned out in Orange county’s Huntington Beach, a recent flashpoint after Newsom ordered beaches there to close.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/202 ... sacramento
It turns out that C19 may only have a fatality rate of about 0.15%, meaning the Rat governors like Newsom and Cuomo have severely overreacted - letting themselves be guided by fear rather than science and destroying their states' economies in the process. On election day, the unemployed millions in their states should remember well the party that forced them into destitution for no reason.
New data support the skeptics’ view—a preliminary study by a Stanford team, released Friday. They conducted a seroprevalence study of Santa Clara County, Calif., on April 3 and 4.

The researchers found that the percentage of infections was indeed vastly larger than the roughly 1,000 known positive cases in the county at the time of the study. The preliminary results—the research will now undergo peer review—show that between 2.5% and 4.2% of county residents are estimated to have antibodies against the virus. That translates into 48,000 to 81,000 infections, 50 to 85 times as high as the number of known cases.

That may sound scary, but it’s great news. It suggests that the large majority of people who contract Covid-19 recover without ever knowing they were infected, and that the U.S. infection fatality rate may be more than an order of magnitude lower than authorities had assumed. Based on this seroprevalence data, the authors estimate that in Santa Clara County the true infection fatality rate is somewhere in the range of 0.12% to 0.2%—far closer to seasonal influenza than to the original, case-based estimates.

The Newport Beach and Dana Point city councils have voted to join a lawsuit against the Rat Governor Newsom, seeking to order him to withdraw the Terror Troops he's deployed against unarmed civilians and to reopen the beaches!

Here's a HILARIOUS video of a visibly nervous and stammering Newsom, speaking from his fortified residence in Sacramento, as the noose tightens. Newsom seems to remember that Gray Davis was deposed as governor two years before his term expired after he ordered a ban on beach bonfires and that that paved the way for eight years of Republican rule of California under Schwarzennegger.

Huge throngs - waving Trump 2020 flags - protest outside Los Angeles City Hall and burn an effigy of Newsom!

For me, the Bottom Line is that we need to OPEN the country to allow people to WORK and earn money and PAY TAXES, too.

We can and should open gradually and watch the data to see if there is a continued need to keep aspects of this "Lock down" in the USA and elsewhere in the world. This disease is really a BAD FLU (influenza).

We cannot stay on "Lock down" for too much longer without doing significant harm to many businesses and to individuals. The ones affected the most are those who work hourly, cannot get (at least some) government benefits (for some reason), and will soon have to go to Food Pantries (or "Soup Kitchens") to get a meal.

Yes, a few more will likely die and more will get ill with the Virus, but the cost to the Economy and to individuals is getting too high. There is the hidden costs (of this Shut down) of increased suicide, depression, spouse and family abuse, and more along this psychiatric area. The protests cited here indicate the level of frustration and desperation of many individuals. The support for continued imposed restrictions is eroding as this continued Lock down is viewed as getting too expensive.

We are nearing the point where costs exceed benefits of this Lock down.

"A few more"?
This thing has already killed more US people than the Vietnam war, twice as many as the Korean war, over a dozen times as many as 9/11. How many deaths would justify restrictions?

More Americans died of car accidents in November and December of last year than in the Vietnam War.

If that's the new threshold, we need to ban cars.

In 2019, an estimated 38,800 people lost their lives to car crashes – a 2% decline from 2018 (39,404 deaths) and a 4% decline from 2017 (40,231 deaths)
That's a little over half the covid deaths so far.

and car crashes aren't infectious.

So?

If you're worried about dying in a car crash you can choose not to drive. If you're worried about dying of COVID-19 you can choose not to leave your home.

People die every day in a variety of ways. That's how this works. The nanny staters seem to believe that government can protect people from the very nature of existence itself. That the government can equalize the natural unfairness of the entire cosmos. They're becoming increasingly unhinged upon the realization that it cannot. Even the most ginned-up social democracy can't protect humans from dying and decomposing, as we've seen in the case of Belgium and its sky high mortality rate.
