I know who Ms. Ripperton was. You can't forget a five-octave voice like that! Also, I think her daughter is/was one of the cast on SNL iirc, at least back when I used to watch it.

The Barbies my cousin had decades ago could bend their knees 10 or 15 degrees, tops. Later ones (Gymnast Barbie) may have had more flexibility, if I remember what my daughters had.

I never did own any but I used to play with the ones that belonged to the daughters of my babysitter with them and thought their accessories were pretty cool. So yeah, basically sour grapes.
