trevor33 wrote:Yeah i see that Mexcio had 6 wins from 6 in the previous round and had trouble with the coach, i hope they do well.
This is the same Chile side that played in S Africa, just 4 years older and 4 years smarter... granted their defense is poor because they push so many men forward but they have the ability to out score any team. The only European team that i rate is Germany the rest have holes, don't be surprised if Spain go out in the group phase.
What do you think of my forecasts? I bet there will be a brazil spain in the first round of knock out. Germany will be the only european reaching semis and will play brazil and lose.
I wouldn't be surprised at all if Germany are the only European team to reach the last 4, i can't see Uruguay being one of them though, their defense is just to old... their have experience by the bucket load though and i think they'll probably get out of their group but wouldn't be shocked by an early exit either. If they face Colombia in the last 16, they're out.
Can't see Argentina winning it tbh. they always seems to mess up at world cups. If it was being played in Europe i would say Germany 100% but i've watched a lot of S. American football in the past few years and they're better than 4 years ago, plus a home WC will make a big advantage. Colombia and Chile have looked really good, Chile do concede but Colombia have everything but i think they might choke against Brazil... will take a European team to knock out Brazil imo. The rest will have more fear.
You have Bosnia out in the first round, they have been getting better and better the past 8 years or so and have a lot of experienced players... granted none of them have played at a WC but i expect them to be the surprise of Brazil if they can get used to the conditions.
I'm just really looking forward to it tbh. In S. Africa i picked out Chile and Uruguay to support, this year i'll add Colombia and Bosnia to that list.
If Argentina and Portugal do play each other in the last 8 i expect the Ronaldo show and Portugal to win. He is better than Messi and will want to show the world.

Also, not that I'm complaining because the US has no shot, even if they were to advance past the group stage, but I don't get how seemingly unbalanced the draws are. Looking at the FIFA Rankings, Brazi's group has Brazil which is #10, and then Croatia (16), nietzsche-land (20), and Cameroon 51.
How the f*ck do they base their rankings on, other than sucking the home country's dick?
What exactly did you expect from south africa?? They would never have qualified for their own world cup if they didn t get a free entry for being the host.
And yes, not only you get a free pass to participate but you are also seeded number one. It s like hosting a party at your place with rich guys. You might not qualify for the party in entry fees, but you organize so you don t need to pay them and you get to sit at the best table. Oh and the croud cheers for you.

the afro that is just on the bench?
anyway, so cool to see MU being such an average crap. and happy to see newcastle in better shape than last year. I think that this team is now more french than any arsenal team has ever been!
The other day, PSG played for the first time in ligue1 with 100% foreign players on the pitch. Made me wonder if newcastle could have more french players than PSG... looked at rosters and it was very close! 10 frenchmen for the magpies, 11 for the parisians (including shady third keeper).

City drew and Chelsea lost yesterday? Seeing as they are the 2 main contenders for the title this year (in my opinion) I'd love to think we could capitalise against Everton today. Definitely not getting carried away though, it'll be a tough game.

Ok so you like vangelis. Do you like that pile of shit song from him you just posted though? Sounds like an early 90s mainstream techno attempt that is so bad it ends up in the caroussel of a gipsy funfair to make children feel dizzy.

Looks interesting Hardattack.
I reckon it will be dominated by South America and almost certainly with a winner from that continent. I think that the African nations will fair a little better than you estimate above.. climate suits them more than the Europeans and they are better each year.

2.Mexico
3.Cameroon
4.Croatia
GROUP B: (maybe 2nd and 3rd could swap)
1.Spain
2.Chile
3.Netherlands

2.Ivory Coast
3.Japan
4.Greece

You're probably right. I picked using an amalgamation of who I think the better teams are, and who I would personally like to see win each match.

Arsenal 1 (Ozil, 80) Everton 1 (Deulofeu, 84)
Wow, what a game! Horrible to watch as an Arsenal fan though! Everton were very impressive and maybe deserved the 3 points, but the work we have done when we haven't the ball during games this season has been sensational and it earned us a point today.

I already said in my first post my heart picked a few of them. But anyone who has watched S. American football recently will say that Colombia and Chile are capable of winning the WC. Bosnia are just fun to watch and can upset a lot of people...
Most people (like me) seem to be underestimating the conditions though, have a look at the stadiums, the temperatures and humidity. Spain and Belgium play all their group games in the cooler south east... England after playing in the 90%+ humidity jungle then go to play Uruguay in the south east, hell they might as well be playing in Uruguay it's so close.

I'm sorry, but no.
Maybe they can get to the semifinals, but that's it.
Brazil, Germany, Spain, or Argentina. The winner will come from these 4.

Chile's defense probably isn't good enough but i can see no reason other than choking as to why Colombia can't be considered serious WC contenders. I've watched a lot of them the last two years and they have everything needed, maybe lack a little bit of experience but not quality.
They've been pretty lucky with the location of their group matches but i can't see Spain having the legs.
Probably going to be a Brazil vs Germany final but i'll be going for Colombia and Chile (don't tell my Peruvian friends) all the way.

I didn't watch it but some people are claiming fraud in the lottery for the aligning of the groups.
Sorry it is in spanish but I couldn't find it in english.
Basically they are saying that the guy who opened the balls had other papers under the stand/desk, and that the pieces of paper didn't fold back into rolls like the ones the lady opened.
Could it be?

I can read Spanish fine, lived in Peru for 2 years.
There was a claim that someone had hacked into fifa's website and that the draw had already been conducted with Germany and Holland in the same group and Brazil and England in the same group... put the best teams together to make the group stage more interesting. Obviously if that was true they couldn't use the draw which was leaked so had to create a new one... this one.
Last year the exact same draw came out for the Champions League last 16 than what came out in the practice draw, i can't remember the odds for that to happen but it was pretty f*cking high.
I have no doubt that the draw was fixed, as well as the seedings... look at Italy, runners up at Euro 2012 and 3rd at the confederations cup not ranked in the top 7 but Belgium who have not qualified for a major finals in ages and Colombia the same, both have good sides but both Italy and Holland have had better results than them and deserved to be seeded.
Then look at the draw, both Belgium and Colombia have the most boring draws... only big unseeded side not to have a glamor draw is France. France who never have a hard group and who have cheated their way to the last two world cups... ok an offside goal isn't cheating but it wasn't a goal. clearly. Henry handball, a blind rabbit stay that from the top stand.

i m doing forecast with very limited knowledge of teams form levels, who are called into the national team into brazil and there are teams, i really have got not much idea about some of them.

every city/stadium are called before national teams are seeded into the groups.
as a result, it was not any known which team to play in which city and stadium, before the seeding.
so, since you may complain about some cities being close to home country or some climate conditions being humid whatever, these all factors are luck based, something similar with seeding itself... How france drew such an comperatively easy group while group B and D are bad ass groups. IMO, these are all luck based stuff, i mean random.
