What!!, it's slower than a very slow thing....it'd be quicker to actually invade these countries for real..

Right, as Lack mentioned, he's been fiddling around with performance and maintenance issues/concerns for the past couple of days (today especially).
Hopefully he's been working on an update to go along with all the slow down as well.

Was that also last couple of hours? I've had network-time out errors for weeks several hours per day. This morning it almost cost me a game since it took me 50 minutes to finish my turn because of all the waiting/refreshing.
