I think we should have 2 new tabs.
My Turns tab-
This shows you the games that it is your turn in.
Watched Games tab-
Shows you games that you have selected to watch, (Tourny games as a tourny organiser/ Battle Royals/ Friends games)
I think we need these tabs pretty quickly.

Watched Games has been rejected, so that's not gonna happen.
"My Turns" could be useful, but it isn't a very high priority.

Look it up on the To-Do list and find out.

option to watch games?

Hi there, I'm new, but I've already got a suggestion for the site. It would be nice if there was a tab under my games for "watched" games. I'd like to be able to keep tabs on some games that I'm not in. This would also obviously require adding an option active games to add it to this new tab.
I haven't found a good way to track other games than write down the number and use the game finder to find it. Is there a better way that I haven't found?

There's always the option of bookmarking the page and checking it after you play your games.
If memory serves me correctly I think this is already on the To Do list. Check the first thread in this forum for yourself. I'm pretty sure it's on there somewhere.
At the least, it sounds like this could be an interesting GreaseMonkey/Firefox script. Is that possible anyone?

Sure enough, there it is in the "rejected" section. Ouch. Seems like a useful and easy-to-implement feature to me. I don't really use bookmarks (I use del.icio.us so I can access them on any computer), plus if there was a "watched games" tab one could see the status of the game (like players eliminated, whose turn it is, or whatever) without actually having to go to the game page. Oh well.

I like this idea. It would be very handy to use while waiting for people to take their turns.

I don't really care about bookmarking games for tournaments. I think this tool would be extremely useful for normal users though. I know that I spend a lot of my time on CC looking at other people's games and learning from people's moves. I'm sure other people do this too. A bookmark tool would allow me to easily check back on some of the most interesting games. This, in my opinion would be one of the best changes you could make to Conquer Club at the moment. Please reconsider!

I would like to develop better tools to make things streamlined for tourney organizers, and something similar to this could be included in such tools.
But for now the Game Finder solution seems good enough. Perhaps someone could explain better why they think isn't. Of course, it only works if tourney organizers name their games in a standard way. Perhaps the tourney label should be a pull-down menu instead of free-form text for starting games and finding games?
Lack,
Perhaps have the tournaments that that tournament organizer made be the first on the list or easily identifiable instead of just alphabetical. Maybe have the tournaments you made be at the top of the list or something to that effect.
I think this idea is a good one, it would make things a lot easier.

I think it would be a great idea if we can watch other peoples games instead of keep searching for it there could be another tab on my games which it would be called watching
this will give some players who like to watch other games lifes easier and also the tournament directors when there just waiting for one game to finish etc

Concise description:- To Be able to bookmark Games through Game finder, and searching through other players games
Specifics:- A Clickable button that will add a game that the player may not be playing in to the 'My Games' page under a new tab 'Bookmarks'.
- Finished games, active games and games that are still being filled can be added to the bookmarks
This will improve the following aspects of the site:- Makes it easier to track games that freinds and foes are taking part in.
- Easier to track games for tourney directors.
- If you have a really good game you can save the memory and look at it in amazement!

Any reason why using favourites/bookmarks in your browser doesn't achieve this ?
bookmarkable "game finder"

* Suggestion Idea:
"Game Finder" from shall issue a GET instead of POST request to the server, therefore it could be bookmarked.
* Why it is needed:
- reduce stress on system (less requests to be download till getting the results page)
- less boring (everybody has favorite game setup)
- could be bookmarked

Because through your browser you end up with a long dropdown list of games and get other websites (some that can be quite important) can be hard to find because of it, whereas this is purely for conquer club games

I second the suggestion to have the ability to designate games to a "watch list".
Perhaps on the "My Games" page, a new tab could be created after Active, Awaiting Players, Eliminated, Recently Finished. One could manage games on his Watch List somewhat similar to managing his Friends/Foes list.
This improves the site by allowing players to quickly reference games of particular interest to them. Players can more easily watch significant games, suspected multis or secret diplomacy, etc. My particular desire for this is to be able to better coach lower ranked players. I could put their/our games on the watch list and see when their turn is up, so I can go into chat or PM to give suggestions before they take their turn.

I would support watching games if the following could be included in the suggestion:
-players cannot watch foggy games (for obvious reasons)
-at the bottom of the game page, the name of the players who are "browsing" or "watching" the game are listed (just as they are listed on forum thread pages to designate who is browsing the particular forum topic.)
-foes are prevented from watching your games AND foes are prevented from commenting in your game chat
Make all that happen and I'd support a watch list.

Are you aware that you can, right now, watch a foggy game? If you are not a player, you cannot see any numbers on the map, and the log is full of question marks, but you can see how many troops were awarded for holding some number of territories, or some unidentified zone.
I agree that it might be nice to see who is looking in on a game, but that should include players as well as kibbitzers.
I also agree with your thoughts on foes. Currently foes are filtered out of your game chat, but I don't know if they are prevented from putting in something that other players in your game can see.
Until this sort of thing is added to the site, there are add-ins to do this sort of thing:
Saved Searches For Internet Explorer Script and
New Greasemonky Script - Saved Searchs. With a saved search, you should be able to go to the Game Finder page, click to run a search which finds the games of interest, then Enter Game and bob's your uncle.
