about 1 in 10 games i play someone accuses me of cheating because i use click able maps
does this happen to others and why cant people read the forums and see that they are not cheating
I remember back when I played WoW, some people thought it was cheating if you used custom interface add-ons. There were some nice ones that made auction house stuff more profitable, maps better, and on and on. Anyone could do it, but those who didn't would often call you a cheater.
I figure the reason they consider it cheating because they are unwilling or unable to invest the time and energy required to make use of the same tools for themselves. Simply put, too busy and/or lazy, or they don't know how. Even those that feel they might lack the know how could probably mostly get it done, with help, if they put forth the effort to make it happen.
If I played speed non-sequential maps I'd either use the tools required to be competitive or not play them. Finally there is a legitimate use for the term "whiner". They whine because it's easier than taking action to avail themselves of the available tools.

Well, my computer cannot take firefox and I don't currently have the funds for a new one. I have bought a premium here on CC, but I think if I had to face a bunch of folks like you who used tools not available to me, then I would not have joined.

More than 90% of players don't visit the forums. Most internet users don't use Firefox. It's still a problem.

So the people that seek out knowledge and wisdom are to be looked down upon because others are not willing to do the same?
So those that have made a wiser choice with regards to what internet browser they use should be punished because others are complacent with the crappy browser that they were given?

This isn't knowledge and wisdom. It's a javascript that lets you play faster than your opponents. You're cheating, but because everyone else you know is doing it, you think it's fine. That steroids analogy a page or so back was apt.

You have played a total of 20 speed fs games All PRE CM sans a BR game. Your stats are 2-20 not too good at all. Soo with no CM in the picture what was your excuse? Was everybody cheating back then also?

I'll stick to my seq games... thankyou very much...

Your stats are what the are.. If freestyle is soo easy to win then you should be running it over. I did not count the BR win as we both know Winning a BR is like winning the lotto. Gotta be super lucky to win.

I don't use clickie maps because my computer won't handle it. So I don't play freestyle speed games.
All these people who whine about clickies should do the same.

CM is not a cheat. In fact many of the seq players use it also. It just does not have the same effect as in Freestyle. So what happens when lack adds in into the site? All you still going to be calling it a cheat?

before clickable maps existed, people still claimed that people that moved fast in freestyle(people can move pretty fast with or without it) were cheating..

Come on now, use some sense. The effect it has in freestyle is to give the players using it an advantage over the players not using it. Since it's an unfair advantage (not related to how well you play but to external factors), it's cheating. If it were incorporated into the site, then it wouldn't be an advantage anymore.

Ah, my mistake. You're both talking about speed games. Do people still play those? The novelty wears off after a while... if I'm going to sit down for three hours to play a game I'd rather sit around a real board.
I still don't follow your point though. Ad hom attacks don't detract from the argument that you're cheating... they just make it sound like you have no excuse for cheating.

And let me guess. Your idea of fixing the "problem" is endlessly bitching about it? That seems a bit cut and dry to me. Meanwhile instead of continuing to be a stick in the mud, either help the people who feel cheated by offering them the information to get upto par(as you play them) or suggest that they should steer clear of freestyle. This isn't an epidemic or some airborne disease that we're up againt, so quit acting as if the sky is falling. It's something that many of us consider to be an asset rather then a liability. Making them(CM, BOB, and other legal scripts) an addition to the site itself and them not being browser sensitive is the most productive idea I've read so far. The rest of the bickering is just nails on a chalkboard.

@ people still play those...
985743 results on 9858 pages <-- total speed games.. which is about 1 in every 5 games. I suspect that number will even rise more since speed games did not come into being until later into CC's life.

Well, that's because it's not a cheat in seq...
But in freestyle, it's more of an advantage than that card hack program,
do you remember back in the old days before lack fixed that flaw...
And who can forget the old double turn trick...
And if everybody had CM, then no... it would be a level playing field, allowing the strategic minded to rise above the rest, like they did before... Its just like card counting... there was a time that the only way to know how many cards someone had was to scroll the game log, so back in the day, i was one of the few players who took the time to count the cards, and this gave me a strong advantage over the players who did not... but then came BOB... and then anybody with the script had that advantage... later, lack decided to add that feature here... and now EVERYBODY knows how many cards everybody has... I miss those old days... it was fun throwing off the opponents so they would think i had one less card than i did... hehehehe

Actually... it's more like you're bringing a GUN to a KNIFE FIGHT...

No no... it's like you're bringing a grenade launcher...
to a throwing contest
No no no... that's not it... it's like you're bringing a machine gun grenade launcher...
to a paint ball fight
nope... that still doesn't do it... it's like you're bringing a Tank...
to a demolition derby
okay... this should sum it up best... it's like you're bringing a bunch of howitzer artillery guns,
to a knife fight!

Ya but the guy carrying the knife just has to turn round and he'll find his very own tank. And he can get it before he starts the war.
So all that's needed is better information. Hey Andy, Andy. ANDY DUFRESNE.... <makes a trail of bananas>
Can we have more prominent information for people who wish to join speedgames. Maybe a pop up box the first time they choose that option, or a *Read This First* section with links to clickable maps, so everybody knows what's available. Then if they choose to ignore it tough titties... and it would stop all the whining too...

all the information is there
why call anyone a cheat,, in that case anyone with 'bob' is a cheat
it's an enhancement to speed you up if we're all meant to starting a game level
count your own armies and use the scroll down to find out which way you can attack and play forbidden city
why bother getting your credit card out paying your money and not bother informing yourself
i have no sympathy for for the whiners
maybe we should all use the same broadband company or even all should use dial up we'd all have the same speed then right??? even with clickies i don't have speed because of lag,,
my point when does the bitching stop get over it
