Really? Very interesting (that may have sounded sarcastic, but really, it is)
Yes, I met his Great Great Grandson, who informed me of this, but I believe that you could verify this online...
I looked on-line but couldn't find that you had met his Great Great Grandson

http://www.classroomhelp.com/lessons/Presidents/tyler.htmlJohn Tyler died in 1862 and was buried in Richmond, pointedly ignored by the federal government as a sworn enemy of the U.S. He was 71 years and 295 days old.

JJM gets the two confused.
While he was a general he promised any Indian tribe that fought on his side at the battle of New Orleans would be aloud to keep their land. When he became president he broke that promise and kicked them all west. If you don't call that awful then you are out of your mind.
Oh god forbid a president who lied to people, and to the Indians nonetheless. I'm sure Jackson must have been the only president we ever had that lied to people, and certainly the only one to have an anti-Indian policy.
Of all the things we did to the Indians, Jackson's betrayal of the men who fought for him was by far the worst. He was a cowardly rat bastard and the first president to dishonor our constitution by denying the southern states their right to secede. I still voted for Bush though.

States cannot have a right to secede; that's absurd. If a state secedes, it rejects the very Constitution which you claim grants them such rights.

People are so subjective. They lived through Carter and Bush, so of course they must have been the worst President. They were so horrible!
'Cause, you know, some stagflation is SO much worse than Civil War, the Great Depression, Constitutional rape, or genocide.

Reading these comments and the votes, I think the same thing.
Also, I may have stated this in another forum, but I base my entire "vote" on whether the president did or did not do a good job in his capacity as president. In other words, I don't give a flying fish whether Nixon tried to steal an election; that doesn't factor in to my decision. I do, however, think that helping to bring about the deaths of some 650,000 Americans in a Civil War is a pretty good indication that you didn't do a good job at the president thing...

yes I voted Bush worst president
Coming from an Aussie, That seems like the typical response about America and our Education System. There are a good few of us who do study American History / Presidents, with more than a quick look. In fact I would wager that more Americans know about the past Presidents than Aussies with past Prime Ministers.

Yeah, I wonder if that's a common opinion in Australia - "All Americans are stupid... mate."

Do they spell grammar with an "er" over in Australia. Because if not, you're really not in a position to judge anyone else from another English-speaking country.
Perhaps we found JJM a soulmate?

It's funny how the people who flame others for bad grammar always fall on their own sword.
"I don't like it when people don't talk good and stuff."

Johnson, easily. Who else on the list was brought up for impeachment and only missed being booted from office by one vote? After his last term as president he got beaten in a Senate race in his home state.

That is why he is my favourite Australian Prime Minister! It was only in his first year that happened. Many thought it was a Japanese Sub that came and took him. The logical answer was that he drowned.

As an Aussie, I think it would be safe to say that most Australian's know more American Presidents than Australian Prime Ministers. Sad, but true. (but then again, that has more to say with the dominance the US has on Western Culture)
