Expect it, but mostly because the causes go deeper than you assert.

It's telling that the man she's interviewing is perfectly calm and reasonable, and trying to make his statements. Meanwhile, she is interrupting him and arguing with him (for example, "Illinois, the state of Lincoln, is getting $50 billion in stimulus." Her overreaction ("anti-CNN" and "not suitable for children") is priceless.

The first guy is nuts... "He's a facist." "Why?" "Because he is." "But why...?" "He's a facist." The second guy though, seemed calm and ready to make his points. He wanted to be listened too. She wanted ratings. And a guy calmly making his points doesn't make for good ratings. A guy yelling and screaming and throwing his baby at a reporter does. So, she tried to rile him up a bit, but failed.

I can't really comment on the whole protest issue though... As a 17 year old Canadian who doesn't pay taxes, I'm hardly in a position to judge it. I still do think the whole "tea-bagging" thing is pretty funny though.

pimpdave, you would have been welcome at the Tea Party protests with that line of thinking.

It's true, the President has not raised taxes on the vast majority of Americans (note, the President and his spokespeople continue to use the term "working Americans" as if people who make more than $200K or $250K don't actually work... that's an argument for another day). So, the protests were not necessarily about taxes. They were, however, about spending. The issue for many people is that the federal government is spending a whole lot of money on a lot of different things, some of the money is for infrastructure, some is for bailouts, some is for tax breaks, some is for pork (the bad kind, not the delicious kind). When the bill on this spending spree becomes due, what will the federal government do? Take more loans? Increase the federal deficit? Raise taxes? These "solutions" to mounting federal debt are unaccetable to many Americans, when they do not need or want to give money to AIG, or build bridges to nowhere or pay for a raise for the head of the US postal service.

So, when you say that the government should break up the big companies, well, I agree with you and I think the protestors would too.

We, Americans know that we are in trouble. If Obama wanted to make an impact on the economy, he would have ditched his Kanzian economics and applied Austrian Economics. He would have waited until the economy was not in the toilet before attempting to fashion his broad socialist agenda. Instead, he chose to cram everything that he had into this short 2 year term, thinking that it would make his agenda items come to fruition. This is doomed to fail, we are all going to see tax hikes, we are already seeing inflation and things are beginning to teeter on the edge of civil unrest.

By the way, the masses may not be paying more tax by way of income tax (an illegal tax anyway...) but we sure have seen the cost of tobacco and other things jacked up. And lets not forget that home owner interest payments may not be tax deductible in the near future. That is an increase on taxable deductions.

Partly from the Sean Hannity forums, which are hilariously depressing. Partly from happening to hear the bigots calling up talk radio shows (I listen when I'm tired behind the wheel. they keep me awake), partly from the mouth of that fat, worthless piece of shit, Rush Limbaugh. Remember what he said about Donovan McNabb?

Also, I saw Michael J. Fox on the Daily Show last night (he appeared a week or two ago, but I haven't been watching much TV lately, and only caught up last night).

I'll never forgive that fat fucking prick Limbaugh. Michael J. was doing his best to hide his condition. You could just tell that he's embarrassed by it, and has far more courage than Limbaugh ever will, just for appearing on TV, for having no choice but to display some weakness. It's getting harder for Michael J. to enunciate too. It's heartbreaking.

I mention all of this just to point out how ruthless the mouthpieces for your bullshit teabagging parties are, when someone happens to commit the ultimate crime of disagreeing. Or hell, in McNabb's case, just being an amazing quarterback. Maybe Limbaugh feels threatened by a black man finding success without falling into the traps of violent behavior or substance abuse. The bigotry is both surprising and unwarranted.

The point is, you can go and have your pathetic demonstrations all on your own. Thanks, but I'll skip the veiled racism, willful ignorance, and resentment of anyone who reads (Why is being elite a bad thing? Why do you hate me for having a higher IQ than you and having earned a great education? Cause that's the truth. I earned it. I've worked hard. But just because I disagree with you, you have to turn the fact that I am one of the best and brightest into some kind of a strike against me? Especially when I am known for just how humble and giving I am. Sometimes I'll use vocabulary that goes over the heads of my friends, but they all know that I'll gladly tell them what the word means, without being condescending. They know I don't mean it, it's just the first word that comes to mind, to give an example. But I can't stop being me. I can't stop wanting to learn.).

Why is it that you have to be so rude when expressing your thoughts? It really makes it difficult to get to the point of your argument when you are expressing so much hate.

You didn't even bother to explain what Rush did to Fox that pissed you off so much. All you can do is call him a "fat fucking prick" and ramble on about teabagging. The protesters at the tea Party rallies didn't consider the "teabagging" concept that the left, which obviously can't stop thinking about balls on their chins, came up with. And what is with the ignorant notion that this is about a black president... really? You don't think that it has ANYTHING to do with the socialist agenda? The rapidly growing government? or the fact that Obama has spent more money in his first 90 days than Bush did in 8 years? Are you seriously suggesting that this is all about a "veiled racism?"

The truth is that we do have taxation without representation. The VAST majority of the people said NO to the bailouts. They didn't listen. none of the senate read the Omnibus package, but they signed it into law. We were promised no more pork barrel spending... but there is pork in the budget! Both left and right media is driving the hammer harder to split the people in half... you know that a house divided cannot stand! And all the media (Fox included!) is all owned by the same people. This is how America dies. Half of you are tricked into thinking that freedom and liberty is a bad thing, and you willfully hand over your personal sovereignty while the rest of us get ready to stand up and fight for it.

But you, Dave, you, I have to say, are vile and contemptible. You spew every bit as much hatred and lies that you accuse the right wing of doing, and you have only metaphors for cock sucking to make your point. Then you babble on about how you earned your education and that you are smarter than everyone else? Please. You are so egotistical that you cant even see that you are so hate filled that you nullify your own arguments with your teeming emotionalism.

By the way, what does "condescending" mean? can you tell me what that means without making me feel somehow lower than you in the grand scheme of things? Because that is exactly what you are... condescending in every post that you write.

Google is your friend. I will not disseminate the video of Limbaugh mocking Michael J. Fox, even to criticize Limbaugh. Find it on your own, and stop demanding "handouts".

Actually, they didn't.

All of the major independent surveys taken before the bailout package was implemented indicated that public opinion was in favour of a stimulus package (admittedly, it wasn't unanimous).

The idea that nobody agreed with the bailout plan is a complete fiction, it's really nothing more than a bogus claim made by those who didn't get their own way. To tell the truth, I'm a little bit sick of hearing it get bandied about so much by people who think it's true.

Do you support the bailout? If so, do you support all of the provisions of all of the bailout and spending plans? Do you think it's okay if I don't support some or most of the provisions of the bailout plan? And, if you think it's okay if I don't support them, do you think it's okay if I protest or write my Congressman or the President? And if you think the last is okay, do you think I can do that without being ridiculed by half of the newspeople in the United States, various actors and actresses, and half of the people on this thread? Or do you have to know whether I own a gun or have a red neck first, before you answer those questions?

Good point. Maybe "ridiculed" is the wrong word. Mocked? No. Called a rascist redneck? Maybe.

I think I'm more annoyed by the lack of attention to the real reasons behind the tea parties. Instead of focusing on why people support the things, many members of the media focused on making tea bag jokes (admittedly, very funny) or calling the people at the protests rednecks, racsists, anti-government, Republicans, tools of the wealthy, etc. I think discussion about the issues surrounding the tea party is more constructive than talking about whether someone can talk while teabagging or whether "Morans" was spelled correctly.

But, I'll take my medicine. Ridicule away!
