Like I said earlier, this is a great idea, but I think keeping it small and simple (like Doodle Earth) is the best way to do it. I must admit that when I saw this idea at first, a picture formed in my mind of what it would look like. If you don't mind, here's a quick MS Paint draft of my visions.

Or, with a black background:

"Planits" and "Spaceships" start off neutral, and "Spaceships" can attack "Planits". Nice and simple.

You could probably come up with clever names for the stars (Beetlejuice, Serious, Oryan, etc.) if you conserve space on the map (pardon the pun).

And if your map ends up looking like this then I ask that you give me some credit. I'd be more than willing to help you with this. :)

no offense but the great thing about doodle earth is that it is straight foward, the gameplay is simple, it has standard bonus structure, and it has a low amount of territs. On doodle space, there should be no fancy gameplay or bonuses, it should all just be simple, like doodle earth

you did not show. you said that the spaceships could attack the planets, even though they do not border each other, that, i feel, is not very simple at all, it should jut be whichever territ borders another, with some non borders. IMO

yes i like john9blue's version more... but i do like what zeppliner is saying... if its going to be anything like doodle earth lets keep all bonuses and attacks simple... no across mapp attacks or bombardments
simple gameplay, i have not created bonuses, but it would be planets +sun, Aliens, Space Ships, and asteriods. Very doodley in my opinion. I have not named anyting either, but the planets are all in order
i like the idea of planets rather than stars... but im not sure about the look and gameplay of zeppliners... maybe if it was more organized with some bonuses set out... but i think i would rather see plantets...

Just telling you, the [bigimg] tags do not make an img bigger, they make it so that you have to click it to get it full size, that way people dont have their side to side scroll bar if they don't want it

Lol. Seal is gonna come back with his map already done for him. I think we should give him a chance to work things out himself, unless he gives us permission. Or- even better- have a contest. Doodle Earth is one of the most popular maps...

But, yeah, LZ already has the crayon style, but I take issue with a few things:

-Huge bottleneck near the top
-Territories not named
-No continents (intentional?)

Right now the map is playable, but anonymous and completely dependent on luck of the dice (even more so than Doodle Earth). ;)

remember, this was just an idea thrown out there. i now see the bottleneck, and will change that, name territs, and establish bonuses

for pluto, do you think it should be "Mr. Dwarf"
