What is the MLB record for most consecutive losses by a team in the modern era (post-1900)?

Philadelphia Phillies?
I'm not sure about consecutive losses, but I know they have the worst overall record in the 20th century, or some relative statistic of epic loserdom.

I thought the Mets held that record.

Did a bit of research, Tubaman, and according to
http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/, the Phillies (and other Philadelphia baseball-team variations) have the compiled the most losses in MLB history.
Which doesn't answer the question originally posed, but still somewhat pertinent to this conversation.
I think we need a hint from Rhoges.

It was the Phillies in 1961. I'm not sure how to give a hint about a number. Its more than 15 though.

Oh I was thinkin most regular season losses. Nevermind. Oh yeah I remember now, this season the lost like their 10,000th game.
How about a 25 game losing streak?

But yeah, "guess a random number" questions tended to kill the last thread.

It wasn't really a random number. I figured it was something interesting that people might know. The fact that no one else knew it turned it into a "guess a random number game".
