it has to do with how many spoils you are holding ... i don't play spoil games much so i kinda forget lol i think it's 5 or more and it will MAKE you trade them in mid turn ... but less than 5 is a no ... you are not allowed to trade mid turn ....

but of course i could be wrong about the # lol and i'm too lazy to go look it up in the site instructions and too lazy to post a link to them

I've done it before in fog of war games since nobody realised I had Asia until someone noticed in the game log and spilled the beans.

Yuppers. Do it in fog. Where you just build a massive army and wait for the esc bonuses go UPPPPPP. and then quietly take it over. Boom! 7+ a lot = deadly force!

I hope you're kidding. If you're doing that during escalating you're absolutely terrible at the game. How many other people's territories are you killing in the process? how many armies are you wasting? How big fo a target are you putting on your head?

Don't do whta t his guy said - it would be a TERRIBLE move, possibly cost you the game, with almost no benefit at all (+7 armies? haha... like that will make up anything at all...).

Did it in real life and have done it here a few times already. If you are trying to do it with any more than four players on the board then you deserve (and will) get broken. Do it when one chap has Africa/SA and another has NA and third is surviving (barely) in Europe and you play Aussie to Asia and it can work fine, if you break the threats and then try to hold.

Whether it is worth attempting in all situations is a completely different matter. Often it is not.
