The way they changed things completely gets the issue wrong... this is not going to improve cc for the middle ranks.

I don't understand why people feel the ranks have been "cheapened". If you were aiming for a rank, then got it because the shift, just... aim for the next higher rank. They're still the same number of points, just shifted (right?).

Alright, what were they before? I've never gotten that high, so I wouldn't know

as grade inflation has made A's less meaningful so does redefining rank classifications downward.
when u give a gold star to everyone in class the star no longer is special.
return it to how it was and subdivide lower ranks if you want to make it easier for newer players
to get sense of accomplishment

Well I'll tell you something and I'll tell you in large letters so everyone will be able to read it.


Ranks mean nothing, what counts is how many points you have and what position on the scoreboard you hold, and those things did not change at all.
Of course you can also just play for fun if you're into that sort of kinky stuff.

i liked the old rankings, but it did give me the rank i recently lost back after my impressive losing streak.

I agree mostly, although I would shift one of them down to 1100 and then start the 200 point jumps after 1600 instead of 1800.

i've been through half a dozen of these threads regarding old scoring vs. new scoring. i never really paid that much attention to score, i see the new scoring obviously but can someone post the old scoring method for comparison? thanks

It made me a liar. I agreed with myself that once I hit captain I would chill out and not play so much, then all of a sudden, I was a captain. Then I had a few good games and got to major on the new ranks, past captain. Crap, now what, I can't hold to my agreement of hitting captain and chillin cause I didn't earn it. And now I got major with the cools swords and stuff I need to secure that rank with a few hund. buffer points right? I mean I didn't agree to chill once I hit major so the agreement is null and void and the addiction continues without guilt. So maybe I am not a liar after all. Except I said that about Lt. too, ha ha
