And by the way, I'm quite familiar with the series. And for those of you who have watched it, I have one question for you: WRY DID IT END THAT WAY!?! NOOOOOOOO!!

(I know that's the best possible ending it could have, but that it couldn't have gone the other way).

Daytime death scene
When all of the suspects and investigators were finally gathered together and the investigation was afoot, Child detective Near (william18), who had just came all the way from England to Japan, received a lead to someones role, but before he could say anything, he suddenly dropped to the ground, completely dead.
There was no evidence of any weapon or poisons, no motives for any killers, just a seemingly random attack from a true Shinigami, but still this is a good turn of luck for Kira.

Most likely, this is Light's first kill in the death note. He may be able to use it day and night. Hence my concern if there is more than 1.

Ooooh, that reminds me. In the anime, Light has access to police records.
He probably has investigative abilities.

Light is the original Kira.

He's not only the "bad guy," but he's also the protagonist of the series.

Killing william seems like an odd choice. I'm surprised me, f1fth or sierra wasn't killed. The death makes me early suspicious of Sierra just because of Athlakata but its only a very early suspicion that really doesn't warrant any comment on the matter, just better for me to record my thoughts .

What sucks though is that the day kill happened early on in the day. I find it rather odd that the killer knew who was a cop, so I'm more inclined to think whoever did it just got lucky. I'm going to see if I can watch this online today and learn a bit more about it.

so, what i'm getting here is we have a serial killer, possibly with investigative powers, who either operates only during the day or can operate at both day or night.

I think light is the leader of the bad guys, so they're all mafia, and the good guys are town.
