Coleman the only difference I see is on #4, A the yellow is darker, C it's lighter... best I come up with. But yeah I didn't see it at first either.

I think B is probably the best - fewest similar colours, and so do rather a few others

B is the best option by far as the biggest clash is between red and orange its impossible to distinguish between them even if you are not colour blind. I noticed this in a big way when I was playing this game earlier:
http://www.conquerclub.com/game.php?gam ... 5#map-cell
check out africa -red and orange are hard to distinguish and the new pink isnt much better.
Although I voted for B (could someone please put these options in gimil's first post) I'm still not sure B is the best solution its the best of those presented though.

I haven't read this topic and Twill is heading up the colour commission, but you guys can play with the new mapmaker tool and try different colours on different maps:

Colo(u)r Committee
So as you all know (because you're reading this) there have been a few problems with the new colours.
Seeing as we have bad colour coordination skills, as Lack mentioned we're going to open the decision up to the community and put together a small, quick Colour Committee to pick the new player colours.
The job of this committee is simply to test various colours using the new tool Lack put up and decide as a group on the best combination which will work across all maps.
Memebership is open, but the discussion will be private to keep it focused so we can decide fast and get things changed as soon as possible.
Just PM me if you'd like to join the group. We need opinionated people, colour gurus, colourblind people, regular players.
Lets get things fixed ASAP so everyone can enjoy the new options.
Waiting for your PMs

none of the options. red and orange are too close together and every option has those 2 colors but 1, and that has grey which looks neutral.

That is why B is the best. It has the original 6 colors and white and bright green.

I agree, B looks like by far the best...but there are some army shadows out there are rather light...and some maps that are too! We'll have to figure out all the kinks.

idea: USE A YELLOWER, LIGHTER ORANGE.
Currently, being as it is that all the numbers are outlined in black, this makes colors look a bit darker, which makes orange hard to distiguish from red. I don't have any problems with the way it is or any of the alts AS LONG AS orange is fixed.

I just got done making a flash file that lets you pick the color of each 88 from a color pallet. Download it here. Just move your mouse over the color pallet of the corresponding 88 you wish to edit. Then click. The color will then be changed.
cc_color.dcr
Then open it in Firefox or IE and mess around. I am trying to find a way to make the pallets look better and also display the RGB value of the color for each 88.
Take a screen shot and post your results.

And here is the Hex color picker. For some reason the values register slow. SO when you are picking, pick the middle of the color you want and slowly move the mouse around until the hex value does not change.

I'm a little bit surprised at this many people asking that question. I guess people are only spending a couple seconds looking.
Anyway, look at the yellows in A and C.
