Coleman wrote:It looks like drawing those castles was a lot of work and it is a shame that your army circles obstruct some of the graphics.

What if you added tiny boxes, one on the bottom left of Tenenhair, one on the bottom right of Cardiff, one on the top left of Lundenwic, and one on the top right of Aberdeen with the little castle graphics from the territories.

Ok i have added your boxes with the castles graphic, can you link the territories to the castles yet?

It either needs to be unique in gameplay or location, not both. Since this features buildings, decay, dead space and no one way attacks it is quite different from British Isles.

I know but I'd just like to see a different lay out.

Two british isles map in production (ones only a revamp as well.). Kill me now...
How many USA maps do we have?

Balsiefen wrote:Bonuses definatly need to be recalculated sometime

I have done a quick recalculation.

Balsiefen wrote:but before that, we need to figure out how high the seas are going to be to start. I would say its between 5 and 3, depending how easy we want to make it. One thing is-the higher the men in the seas, the more bonus someone who takes ireland in the first turn will get.

I was thinking low count on muir cenctine, to stop ireland being easy to hold, also to make scotland easier to hole. Maybe the seas on the east could have a high army count. The ones between ireland and england lower. And the western one high again.

Needed in first post:
1) The number of territories currently on the map.
2) The number of continents.

There are four castle provinces on the map. Each one has a castle image in it. Then look at the castle layouts and you will see the same image. That how you make the link.

Main foundry... We are making headway.

Well, an alternative would be this, although it wouldn't help colorblind people as much.

I would work, but to have colours that fitted with the map might be a bit less obvious, and i really wanted it too look like a wooden border

bloody hell, you put a lot into this Tel ... good stuff. it certainly seems totally independent from the classic british isles map to me.

I see what you mean... But I think the bottom 2 castles are not as obvious.
Lundenwic's castle image looks almost like the other towns... its castle shape is even pointing to lothene...maybe if you had that shape on the bottom Like Tenenhair

and maybe flip cardiff to point towards the postion on the isle
also the names cover them a little on the isle .. maybe move the names to the water next to it

Is it too green? Do the castles look out of place? Is the water not blue enough?

And were off:

1. The land terr names are confusing mixed up as black, red and blue (also red and blue also having the glow). First off id advise having a unified glow on all the names for consistancy and prettiness :D. I would also take out the blue port color and make the ports themself stand out a little better.

2. Castles, i feel it would be better to make the terr to link with the names you use above the castles sub maps. But if ypu give me a good reason for hte diffrences i might be convinced otherwise. As for each castle terr give the terr name a different color for each castle to better link the terr to the castle (see cairns bamboo jack map)

3. The small castle graphics you have are nice, id like to see some of tem moved so that the ones in the castke boxes are closer to the ones on the main map. Id liketo see the cardiff castle moved from the left to the right hand side of the box. Id like to see aberdeen image moved from top right to bottom left of the castle box. Lundenwic moved from teh top left to somewhere along the bottom.

now the nitpicking:

1. Tenenhairs title should be moved up a px or two so it isnt touching its box.

2. The courtyard and guard terr names are two close together in Tenenhairs.

3. Move gerniu terr names off of the port image.

4. Move muir nore sea name up a little so it isnt touching the mainland.

5. Move aberdeen a px or two as well so its not touching the box.

5. the "4" in te ireland bonus is difficult to read.

I think that will do you for now. I may have another list later on (depending what mood im in with you :D)

From the continent Wales, the bottom left territory is named "Muster", shouldn't it be called "Munster"? Nice work on the map, it looks great. :D

the glow is to mark out the special territories.

Ok i will look into that.

Ok i will try it

now the nitpicking:

1. Tenenhairs title should be moved up a px or two so it isnt touching its box.
:p i will change it

2. The courtyard and guard terr names are two close together in Tenenhairs.
I will see what i can do

3. Move gerniu terr names off of the port image.
Thats why i have the blue colours so even if that happens you can still see whats what.

4. Move muir nore sea name up a little so it isnt touching the mainland.
Easily done

5. Move aberdeen a px or two as well so its not touching the box.
Also easy to do

5. the "4" in te ireland bonus is difficult to read.
Any ideas how i could change that?

Im aware, but i think there needs to be a glow on all terrs, even if the "non special terrs have a weaker glow

now the nitpicking:

I know but i think you have space to show more of the port :)

the bottom half of the 4 seems a little faded, darken that area in with hte trusty penci :)
