Africa's only real great feat was Egypt, after Egypt lost power things went to shit. They did have a few well off trading countries on their coast, but those only survived as long as colonialism and the slave trade did. Once the slave trade was abolished, a main source of their revenue was gone and their economy collapsed. The colonial powers soon stepped in and with little resistance, took control of those countries and helped rebuild their economies.

And I don't see why the stronger doesn't have the right, after all, ethics and morals arn't universal and certainly nobody can stop the stronger power. Saying might doesn't make right is just a way of crying because you lost.
