Settle down Lo Fan. Though I know what you mean about them generally being in need of a knock down, or renovation, because there's no way you could clean it. The Dairy Queen near us is new and clean. Flame broiled burgers are good and the iced milk products too. Plus they have Dr Pepper on tap which is rare here.

NO WAY...THEY MUST be waiting for CRAP.
I do not mind waiting a wee BIT for good food; I am not sure I will wait one hour or more, tho.
There are two Chick-Fil-A near me. Do I go to the one to wait that long in line? No, I go to the one with the much shorter line. Same Food, and I always get a freshly prepared chicken sandwich. REALLY good food and I wait about 5 minutes, max, after 1 p.m.. (I do avoid going near noon for my lunch, btw.)

In n out: f*ck NO. Wife and youngest son waited an hour in Vegas for lunch (oldest son and I sat in bar and drank). Their lunch sucked. Our cocktails were great.They built one here 6 months ago. Drive thru line is 40 cars deep, always. f*ck that.
Chick-fil-a: f*ck NO AGAIN. They built one here in a busy area. Drive thru line always 40 cars deep and it's not set up for it. Fucks up 3 major roads AND I205. Fucking insane. Trying to close them down. Who in their right minds sits thru that shit???? Idiots.
As far as quality, service, customization, ease...5 Guys all the way. Here, they're clean, polite, fast and no fucked up drive thru. You get mushrooms free! And free peanuts!!

oh man - if the queue is more than a dozen cars long, i would not wait in it. probly just park & go inside. if inside was busy, too - move along.

DQ's chicken basket is the best. Always order extra gravy for the chicken strips and the Texas toast.

my go to meal @ DQ was the foot long chilli dogs and onion rings. peanut buster parfait was quite good as well, iirc.

I never bothered with DQ in the US because there are too many places to go. Also we avoid dairy because of the hormones that are not allowed here. Yet...
Priority places are Jack-in-the-box, Golden Corral, and Sizzler. Chick-Fil-A if there is one where we’re going to. Sonic for giant unsweetened iced tea which is almost not a thing here. Plus we’re looking for bbq and other interesting things like small family run Mexican places.

Welcome to Canuckistan. The problem is a certain corporation supplying too many chains with their products and then you can’t get Dr Pepper.
No you can’t get it at the arches or Burger King and way too many places.
Sucks to be me I guess. One of the things I love about crossing the border is being able to get brewed iced tea almost every where. And if I want to ramp up the calories I can usually get Dr Pepper.

No but I do prefer it from a fountain machine rather than the bottled and canned stuff from Pepsi here.
Oh and places like KFC and Taco Bell or Taco Time set the machines a bit better than 7-11 for my taste.

Dr. Pepper is my beverage of choice with the Chick-FIl-A Classic sandwich; they seem to go well together, ...Like a FINE WINE...!

yeah, that might have been it. i got addicted to US Dr. Pepper at a subway in Elk City, OK - ate there almost every other day for like a month because of the Dr. Pepper...

Subway Dr Pepper is hit and miss here. If they have a fancy machine that does multiple flavours I don’t bother. I either get Mountain Dew or something completely different.
Also the machines at Wendy’s here used to be in need of a tuneup. Their pop often sucked. The arches are definitely the most consistent in that area.

I have read that the massive corporation Ray Crock caused sells so much product, Coca-Cola has staff they send to maintain the machines as often as required, keeping them tuned up making the product to an exact standard.
In the US, Coke also sells Pibbs Extra (formerly Mr Pibbs) to compete with Dr Pepper in some regions. In the Northwest states for some reason they have the rights to Dr Pepper so they just sell that.
Since Pepsi bottles Dr Pepper here and it’s just us Canadians Coke doesn’t even bother with Pibbs or Mellow Yello. Small market. Have coke and a smile. Want something else? Take off and go find it hoser.
We’re so polite Wendy’s would sell crappy pop for years, no problem.

I went to Chick-Fil_A after my 2nd Pfizer vaccine shot today. I really Enjoyed the Classic sandwich and Dr. Pepper.
Now to wait for the side effects that are likely. I got the shot some 8 hours ago and feel rather tired.

I may post this under the vaccine thread; BUT:
I got my 2nd Pfizer shot on Tuesday. I had some mild side effects, but nothing major. I did sleep A LOT as I felt tired and a bit weak, muscles aches and the like. I feel like I am back to normal or close to that some 48 hours after getting the vaccine. I am in the 50+ range the K-B discussed above.
