My thought on the first Speaker is to anoint a VT or weak role. The Speaker is already going to have a target on his back so I'd rather not see us give it to a PR only to get whacked right off the bat.

I don't see why tonka and Rag are voting for BG at this juncture. We have no way of discerning his alignment and to just give him that kind of power without any discussion is reckless at best.

If we don't want to determine the speaker based on role, which I understand cuz of the role fishing blah blah, then can we at least hear some other ideas for how to pick the proper speaker?

I hadn't read this in a while and forgot that the Speaker could be reassigned with a majority vote. For some reason, I thought the speaker had the gavel until he/she died.

I'm still going to hold off on voting until I see some more chatter and votes.

To clarify Epi's statement: the Speaker can be re-elected at any time by majority vote. In order to keep the game flowing, what we're going to do is have the Speaker vote be rolling -- so, at any time in the day phase other than during a lynch vote, you may vote or unvote for Speaker. If at any point a player reaches the majority of the currently alive players, they will immediately become Speaker. The Speaker votes will hold through night phases and will not reset unless you unvote them directly yourself or a new Speaker is elected.

The game will be interesting with this whole "speaker" thing, since I dont really have anything to contribute just yet and I wont be online until after the speaker dealine passes, vote AoG because I think that having a little spotlight on him could make him crack pretty easy if he has something to hide, since he is a bit nooby.

Are all of you out of your mind? BG for speaker? Really? He is clearly a communist, promising cc credits for votes!
I also heard rumours of him and a restraining order for his previous gf... wonder what is going on there... can clearly not be trusted.
One more thing, has anyone actually heard of a politician with a brain?? It doesn't add up!
