aaaaannnnnddd, they absolutely suck at their jobs. how in the hell do you take something that worked amazingly well and absolutely f*ck it over to a degree of fucked-ness that i never imagined could exist on this site?! when i first came to CC, i was also looking at other sites with RISK like gameplay, seeing which one i would drop my money on for a membership... CC had cooler maps, cool and easy interface and the best forums... i was sold... now, they have literally taken what i considered my holy three of this site and just shit on them... maps coming out of the forums are rubbish, the interface just got fucked over and we all know what they did to the forums. sorry if i'm being harsh, but this is getting out of hand and i for one am sad that demonfork wasted his money on my membership, because i am not enjoying this site anymore. it is turning into rubbish right before my eyes and the powers that be don't seem to care. wait, i don't know if it is that they don't seem to care or that they are too daft to even see how they are screwing this site up to a degree that it is becoming embarassing!!! maybe i can cash in my worthless conquer coins to have access to the old site or get my FORUM tab back on the damn mast head... the decisions being made around here are beyond embarrassing... at least the old regime had the common sense to invent an imaginary character to screw the site and paying members over and have the imaginary enemy exit to never be seen again (that was brilliant)... i no longer have faith in this site, we are now witnessing the end... the black jesus is sad...-el Jesus negro

I haven't tried playing from my ipad or phone so I can't speak to that, but I'm having absolutely no problem playing from my laptop. I'm neutral about whether this layout/interface looks/works better than the old. I think some of you guys like it when they make these changes just so you have something to come here and bitch about. If I hated it as much and as for long as some of you seem to have I would have left long before now. I won't say that I'd like to see any of you leave, but I certainly wouldn't miss the negativity or arrogance.

It would help to be able to take turns without having to use multiple browsers. This should have been more thoroughly tested before being released. In addition to not being able to take turns, the map doesn't show, you have to redo any setting you pick(ie color codes) for every turn, and I am sure to find more once I find a way to take a turn(hopefully before I miss one). Considering the times they initiated these changes(there were more than one, i saw some before I slept, and saw more when i woke), and the lack of responses to the reported problems, I would have to say that this was poorly planned. These were some pretty big overhauls with some major impacts on how we play this game. CC should have had a plan to observe and address the issues that were bound to occur with such a major change. One can only hope that CC will do the right things in addressing the resulting consequences from this, but history does not support such hope.
Thanks,

I'm running Firefox 30.0 with clickable maps 4.17 and it won't let me click to deploy like I am used to. This made me lose for sure in a speed game i started yesterday. Every deploy, having to go to the drop down menu, was super annoying.
It worked fine Friday, I would have appreciated some warning there was a new system on Saturday.
Durk responded to this post earlier, said there was some beta testing. Well,
another bug I found was on mobile, the scroll to "next game" did not always show up. I have an iphone, iOS7.x , and was running safari.
In fact, the menu for mobile appeared in random places as far as i could tell. Sometimes i got the
refresh button and an
"i", sometimes the
go to next (>>) was in that menu, and a few times the go to next button was in the upper right like it is on this site. Wasn't working however you slice it, and with no menu at the side, i had to go back to the forum/ hit the CC logo to get to my next game.
So many bugs!!!!
My opinion is at least they should warn the users that there will be a rollout,
like they do with scheduled downtime. Because this is just as annoying, if not more. I saw no such notifications about this coming up, and I know you can make better notifications, you do it for the scheduled downtime.
In response to Jhghost's post, this site has been a "0" for me today, with all of these things. And I know how to search the forum for fixes.
I believe we really need a sticky right now for solutions for all the people having problems, too. I don't want to search the forum for an hour to figure this out.

I agree with every one of the complaints. This "change for the sake of change" is bull! I have been a member since 06 and may not bother renewing if this is the way the new CC management is performing. Crap. Learn from this you guys, and smarten the hell up.

This isn't "change for the sake of change."
With fewer and fewer people doing their gaming on computers and more and more people doing their gaming on mobile devices, it was necessary to build a new interface that would function more consistently across all the different platforms. If you're playing on a computer a lot of these things may seem pointless, but we are a dwindling minority, and CC cannot survive without tapping into the mobile market.

I'm told that version 4.20 works fine, 4.17 will not work any more.

I still don't know the difference.
The built-in clickies are left-click to advance all, right-click to advance none. I've never tried the add-on version, but I'm told it's the reverse.
People who use the add-on swear that it's better that way, although I suspect that's just because that's the way they originally learned it, before the built-in clickies came along.

Bolded the important statement there. I learned clickies first on the site, and I thnk they work just fine.

I'd like to know why admin can't give a head's up on changes. For whatever reason, they don't want to let Team members know, which was always stupid, even if the reasoning was "go join the beta team", but why can't you let the general population know? "Hey all, we're about to make some major changes, just so you're aware!

" And then, maybe even list the reasons for the changes. Explain that this is better for mobile users, if that's what it's intended to do. Would that be so difficult? I don't see anything in Announcements. This is no way to run a business, even if the owner is so much smarter than all of us idiots.
Bollocks.

I've never seen an organization, online or otherwise, rollout a new update without letting its people know about it beforehand. They really say "Join the beta team" is an excuse for that? That is bollocks. It effects the user, we should get a notification if a new update is going live
LIVEā Beta. LIVE=LIVE. You gotta inform us if it effects us.

If you're playing on a computer a lot of these things may seem pointless, but we are a dwindling minority, and CC cannot survive without tapping into the mobile market.
If that is the case, then why not have a standard interface for us who don't use mobile devices, and a check-box to switch to the mobile device interface if you do right on the log on page. That way it could be optimized for mobile devices, not some halfbreed compromise that no one likes. I assume all information going to and from the site would be the same, just how the XML interface reacts.
What I object to most is the Facebook links. I don't want Facebook tracking where I go on the web even if the information is anonymous. Not that it's a crime to play on CC, but it offends me that tracking information about me is sent to a dirt-bag corporation like Facebook to be sold to others for a profit.
It would perhaps also be nice if us regular users could play on the beta site so we could give feedback about changes before unleashing them on an unsuspecting, and often loudly passionate community of players.
Just my $0.06 (That's $0.02 adjusted for inflation)
PS. My score is 1798 but I still have a captains symbol, not that I'm complaining about that.

It keeps getting harder to play from my mobile devices.
I lost the menu on the left that had "my games" to click on when I am in a game. Now I have to click on my name, that takes me to my profile where I can click on "my games" so I can go into another game I want to (not the next one I am set to play in).
I am starting to suspect they want me to click on more things and increase page views? Since they messed with the forum link, I have had to click on an extra page to get to the forums. Why would you intentionally make it take more clicks to get where you want to go?
I guess I should be thankful my games still work seeing what others have posted?

Not sure what you are talking about? You mean the "forum" button that is so small it is impossible to click on?
I just click on the "community" button and then click on "forums" from there. That is the easiest way to get here for me now.
