How does, say, a top layer intermingle with a lower layer? What is the area of effect that "erosion" has? Where is the water (I think it disappeared a long time ago).
Are you familiar with heterogenous mixtures?

I would not necessarily say that he (or she?) ran out of inspiration, when looking at all the diversity and beauty of what is life. But one thing we can certainly be sure of is that god has an inordinate fondness for insects...
