I will let this community project die. It had strong initial support, and I was happy that I could be finding a way to help improve the community I have come to love. But it seems there is too many people who don't care or are opposed to the idea. End of project.
After this, I realize that the goals of the program could never truly be recognized, because the goals weren't clear enough to the general public.
Alstergren- Glad you could do the one thing that would open all our eyes to the futility of it all. Why demand a higher moral code from those around us? Why try and make people more responsible for their actions? You are right, it would be better to say that it is just a game and that we are nothing like the people we show here on CC. In real life I am completely different. Right?
DiM- Your immature post was the very thing we were trying to avoid. Thank you for being the only person to show how ludicrous it was to make people own up to the fact that they are chronic deadbeats, inane bigots who frustrate all to no end, or poor sports who can't get along with people and accuse all of cheating. You put the entire thing in such a light that I can honestly say that you are a comic genius and I loved your masterpiece you posted here!

And GC - Don't give up on this, if people want to support this project (which is intended to help the community) then they can ignore it. Just like the so called "moderators" appear to be doing.

This has been tried before, if I recall correctly, way waaay back when. It had a point then because there was no ignore list. But now we have an ignore list, so why bother? Why assume that people can't decide who they want to not play on their own? There is absolutely zero need for this project, and that's why it has failed. On the contrary, we can clearly see that it already is becoming a greasy little thread for people to air grievances that nobody else cares about, belong on other forums, and should be dealt with through the proper and well-functioning channels already in place, and then forgotten.
In short, you can't really help a community that doesn't exist - namely, the community of people who want to ignore as many people as possible based on rumor and your own obviously biased, unelected, and unasked for judgement.

True, we can avoid playing people that are on the list, but this is a list of people you should put on your ignore list because they ruin the games they join. That way they can't join any of your games!
This isn't meant to say shit to some people who don't deserve it. Some actually deserve it ( Simtom, for exemple .)
Someone posting a player accused him of cheating once, and that was his only mistake, will NEVER get into that list. Like saying a mod will ban someone because he left a single border opened, and the other didn't attack. Mistakes are comon things...you can't judge someone by a single action.
Let say someone uses profanity ( but to a limit that it doesn't get by the rules ) and lot are annoyed, then some of them will post him here, and after reasearch, beeing added.
You're free to choose wheter you want the peoples here on your list or not, it will simply act as an indicator of people making CC less enjoyable by most of their actions.

I looked at his FB and you are the only person on there. He is really new and I think if you contacted him you two might resolve your problems. Right now he isn't near the kind of community parasite that the community suggested ignore list is created for.
We all make mistakes, and hopefully you two will work out your problems. If more complaints were to come in about him then we would bring it before the committee, but right now his one offense doesn't warrant the committee's consideration.

New adjustment : any player who has played less than ten games will not be considered by the committee. We want the list to be reserved for those who are chronically hindering the CC playing experience. Not enough evidence could be mustered for someone who has played in less then ten games. Sorry, perhaps I was being too subtle. I'm not suggesting that certain people don't deserve to be ignored, I'm stating that it strikes me as counterproductive (shall we say) that you've started a big witchhunt forum for people who feel a need to complain more than they are otherwise politely allowed to, swaggering around like a sheriff doing "research" and passing judgement like a moderator, and then coming across hurt and defensive when people point out that there's no need to be doing what you're doing, like "I was just trying to help and I guess that some people want games to be ruined." Clearly, the vast majority wants either of those things.
So I'll ask a question: Why? Why are you doing this? Name one need that is being filled by this list you're putting together. One thing that is not already filled by a function of the site, or an appointed moderator, or the good common sense of any player here.

The list is in an effort to make things easier on causal players who don't have time to make a quick scan of the cheating forum. It is meant to give information to the guy who only logs in once or twice a day to check his games and the forum every once in a while. It is designed in an effort to create community founded standards of sportsmanship, as well as a way to not sit by and be a victim of a person's callow and destructive behavior.
Also since it is merely is a suggested ignore list, you need not take the suggestion to add that person to your personal ignore list. Feel free to ignore this thread all together if you feel that it is pointless.
I sent the committee candidate's a PM to form the committee. 5 have responded Affirmative. Their names will be posted on another thread were committee votes and discussion will be held.
This will continue to be the accusations and Unofficial Community Suggested Ignore List thread.

You have had no one in the community defend your actions. Most feel that what you are doing is in poor taste. If you would like to seek measures to get your name removed from the SIL you can petition for the committee to hear your case. I will contact them if you like, but I am 99% certain that they will stand by the decision to add you.

In theory, if he were to lose 20 points right now (which could only be done by somebody else with 19 points) he would reach -1.
