Tournament has declared full.

We'll start with 25 players instead of 36. So 5-player games instead of 6-player games. Tournament will start when I have the privileges today, or otherwise on friday 8th june.

Round 4 invites have been sent. Based on scoring after Round 2.

[player]Caratacas[/player] is the first player to be out of the Tournament due to 3 Penalties. Not joining within 24 hours in Round 1, and missing 2 turns in Round 2. Last player to make the cut for Round 4 is [player]westbo[/player]. 21st on the Scoreboard with 0 Points, but in for Round 4 as the sign-up order still counted for the players with 0 Points. Players 22-25 on the Scoreboard still have chance to qualify for Round 5 as Results after Round 3 will count.

Hmm, just a question, but doesn't the double points rounds make it almost impossible for the rest of the groups to compete?

I mean if someone nukes themselves in double, they get 12 points so someone in non doubles will have to take at least 2 or more games to even come close to catching up, by which that person who got 12 will be a LOT further ahead.

See the first post. Round 4 Groups are based on scoring after Round 2. You weren't part of the Top 20 to qualify for Round 4. As your good scoring was in Round 3, you were able to qualify for the Double Point Group in Round 5.

This is only partially true. As in a normal game there are always 2 or 3 players that don't score much points. Therefore it is still possible for others to climb up. Also some players are dropping out because of the 3 Penalty rule (missing turns or not joining within 24 hours.)

So it's all about knowing the rules and know how to score points. Nobody said it would be an easy Tournament on a small map. 8-)

Aye, but it just sorta seems like it picks out the people who got lucky from the first 3 rounds. (For example, I nuked myself TWICE... lol..) But for someone who gets 3 lux, and maybe only two eliminations will get the disadvantage.

Once the double rounds start, say I was at the bottom of the list, but I get all 4 nuke eliminations (= 12 points) and someone in group A gets the lux bonus all three (6 points) plus 1 nuke elimination (12 points total already). Like you get what I'm saying? Someone can do less to get more just because of luck in the early rounds.

Then you say people need to know how to get points, I can actually use this as an example since it happened to me. I was trying to nuke out an opponent whom I had cornered in a single territ (All the cards weren't working with me) but due to the 20 round limit I went over trying to get him for extra points. So again, luck comes into play. Either you get the right cards or you don't.

That's like if I put people into a single game and tell players A and B they get 4 points for holding a certain territ to a maximum of 20, while the players C, D, E, and F only get .5 points to a maximum of 2.5.

I'm in an A game right now, and so what? I only need to hold Lux 3 turns and eliminate a single person and I got a instant 8 points that takes me into the next round most likely over a guy in group B who holds Lux for 3 turns and eliminates the other 4 players on his game, he gets only 7 points. So for him to even come close to tying me, he'd have to:
~ hold Lux for 3 turns, self nuke if he gets lucky
~ hold Lux for 3 turns, nuke 2 others out
~ hold Lux for 3 turns, eliminate 2 people and nuke another

All I had to do to make those his options was hold a territ for 3 turns and eliminate anyone.. if I nuked myself + held the lux city.. 18 points.. People could just forget about trying to tie it from the lower games eh?

OK jak, that's your opinion. I marked the Tournament as a Tournament with a twist. Hope the participants like how it is. Suggestions are always welcome, so thanks for writing. It could help me when hosting similar Tournaments in the future.

Our game is over. If I'm right, Cryinlion won the tourny by 2 points (self nuke = 18 points).
