Not only does Obama have Democrat Senators saying they are not sure they will even vote for Obama, but now Obama has even lost Matt Damon. Obama can't win without Matt Damon.

The president sounded a little defensive about it too....
Obama responded to Damon’s criticism saying, “It’s fair to say that when it comes to my presidency, the honeymoon is over…Matt Damon said he’s been disappointed in my performance. Well Matt, I just saw the ‘Adjustment Bureau,’ so…right back atcha buddy.”

Yet you are still running scared of my bet

Yeah, but in fairness, the news that Obama was even elected back in 2008 just finally reached West Virginia last month.

It's clear Obama has support problems in his own party. I won't even open up the can of whoop ass about how Obama has lost more than half of his Independent support as well (the only thing that got him elected). Do the bookies give a reason why these things don't matter?

Still, Obama has it on lock... ;)

It seems a stretch to say he'll be eating crow, but, Scott has a point that the reasons for presidential campaigns often have less to do with electing someone president and more to do with setting the stage for other actions to play-out.

Ralph Nader, for instance, has been pilloried for three "useless" campaigns that served only to "stroke his ego." And yet, last month, Ballot Access News reports:

On April 19, the Maine Supreme Judicial Court issued a 7-0 decision in Nader vs. Democratic Party. It ... clears the way for a trial on whether the behavior of the Democratic Party and its allies in 2004, trying to keep Nader off the ballot in 19 states, may entitle Nader to an award of monetary damages. Because the 2012 presidential election appears to be highly competitive, it is possible that either of the major parties will engage in all-out war against ballot access for various minor party ... candidates. This danger may be ameliorated somewhat by the fact that Nader has established the precedent that major parties may be at legal risk for such behavior.

Nader's three presidential bids have probably accomplished more than any major party campaign in history from legal decisions that are setting precedents that could break-up One Party rule in the U.S. Due to standing requirements, he was only able to bring these suits as an aggrieved presidential candidate. He receives no credit in the media and most of this passes unnoticed, except for minor mentions in obscure legal circulars like Ballot Access News. He essentially volunteered to have his sterling reputation utterly trashed to achieve critical case law for which he'll never be remembered and never receive acknowledgment.

It's really difficult even for a US-American to comment on the esotericism of the U.S. political system; more so with only a few thumbnail sketches drafted by the Guardian. Ron Paul may be weird but he's hardly stupid and very much knows exactly what he's doing. There's a lot more going on than CNN can explain to the unwashed masses in 2 minutes.

Ron Paul would have 4 years as President and it would be 4 years spent with a hostile, uncooperative Congress. The Ron Paul organization could seriously influence the next 25 years of U.S. politics if they took control of the Republican National Committee, and it seems - as Scott is pointing out - they're well on their way. Ron Paul never had any intention of being elected President; he's a dummy candidate.

Ron Paul’s Delegate Strategy

Similar to James Antle’s piece at The American Spectator earlier this week, Rachel Wiener breaks down Ron Paul’s recent successes at The Washington Post:

Remember Ron Paul?

He has yet to win a primary. All his other fellow long-shots have dropped out (or will by the end of the day). The Republican National Committee is calling former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney the “presumptive nominee.”

Yet at state conventions around the country, Paul supporters are increasing the candidate’s support by taking over state party committees and educating fellow Paul fans in arcane rules.

While at many conventions Romney backers are split between numerous would-be delegates, Paul supporters are showing up in droves and voting with discipline for a delegate slate.

With a plurality of delegates from five states, Paul supporters could nominate him from the convention floor — the goal of at least some Paul supporters…

Here’s the latest on Paul’s strength in state committees and conventions:

At Massachusetts’ state convention less than half of Romney’s 27 chosen delegates won tickets to Tampa. Paul supporters were chosen instead. While all of the state’s delegates are committed to vote for Romney, the delegates get to decide on the party chairman, platform, and VP nominee.

Paul backers in Alaska were elected as party chairman and co-chairman but failed to change the rules to give Paul the state’s 24 delegates. (He will get six.)

Paul supporters are a majority in the Iowa GOP’s State Central Committee…

They dominated the caucuses in Louisiana…

In Minnesota, Paul won 20 of 24 delegates allocated at congressional district conventions, and he’s expected to take more at the statewide convention.

Paul supporters teamed up with backers of former Pennsylvania senator Rick Santorum in Colorado to get 13 delegates.

The candidate has also picked up small delegate gains in states where Romney won big — for example, five delegates in Pennsylvania and four in Rhode Island.

Attempts to replicate these successes are taking place in other states across the country — for example, the upcoming state convention in Nevada…

When all the various state conventions are over we’ll see how much support he’s gathered — and whether Romney should have paid more attention.

I think if nothing else this election has proven conclusively that complete losers with no right even vying for the presidency can make a go of it for a while...but in the end...well...reality is most often, realistic.

We are showing you what Democracy looks like. Everyone has a voice. Everyone has a vote. If you want to prevent losers from voting, that would probably fix everything ( ), but it would not be very Democratic.

I bet your opinion would be the opposite if the party were the opposite.

It's happening. Now is the time.

R[̲̅ə̲̅٨̲̅٥̲̅٦̲̅]ution

Contrary to what we've been told by most of the Mainstream Media Ron Paul is doing quite well at winning actual delegates. But you won't hear that on Fox or CNN. Neither will they tell you that Ron Paul has been invigorating liberty supporters by the thousands at his massive rallies. Join the Revolution! Spread the word! Now is the time for action if you care about the welfare of your country and its citizens.

A corrected video will be posted soon which includes Oklahoma and Massachusetts.

Ron Paul takes control of another 2 members of the Republican National Committee yesterday. Two members here, two members there ... start to add up.

SPARKS - In a show of anti-establishment political power at Saturday's Nevada Republican Convention, GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul's supporters ousted two Mitt Romney backers from the Republican National Committee.

The vote came during a day of clashes between the two camps as Paul backers sought to install his people in the party hierarchy and elect as many Nevada delegates as possible to the national convention in Tampa, Fla.

RNC National Committeeman Bob List, a former Nevada governor, lost election to James Smack, the vice chairman of the state GOP and a longtime Paul supporter from Fallon. The vote was 932 for Smack and 623 for List.

RNC National Committeewoman Heidi Smith lost to Diana Orrock, one of Paul's backers. They have been taking control of the Clark County GOP for the past year. Carol Del Carlo of Incline Village also was in the running. Orrock got 902 votes to 429 for Del Carlo and 231 for Smith.

Each state has a female and male RNC representative on the committee, which runs the national Republican Party, a key duty in 2012 when the White House is at stake as well as control of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives.

The new RNC committeeman and committeewoman won't begin serving their four-year terms until after the national GOP convention in August, when they'll be formally installed. But having Paul supporters at the RNC could expand the Texas congressman's influence beyond the 2012 campaign as he promotes smaller government and more liberties.

Meanwhile, though, the Republican National Committee may refuse to admit Ron Paul delegates to the national convention:

Ron Paul's presidential campaign said Thursday it would try to elect as many delegates as possible at Saturday's Nevada Republican Party Convention, dismissing a national GOP threat not to seat the state's delegation at the national convention if it included too many Paul supporters.
