I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but after consultations with my other TDs and reviewing your tournament roster, I cannot let you actually start this tournament. From what I can see, all but one of your players are also members of the Ball Busterz usergroup, which means that this tournament is a defacto private tournament and cannot be run with tournament privileges. 50% of the spots must be open for public signups, and, in my judgement, that has not happened in this case because nearly all the players are members of the same usergroup.

I normally move and lock canceled tournaments immediately, but I will keep this thread open until Wednesday evening for the inevitable comments (instead of flooding my Inbox with them).

Or, your other option to keep this tournament open is to take no more signups from members of the Ball Busterz usergroup and take signups from everybody else to double the number of players (and drop your group membership down to the 50% level).

Are you serious?! Thats bc most of the women on CC are in the forum! That forum is for the women of CC! This is bullshit.... There are only so many females on CC! Yeah so what most of them are in that forum! That doesnt make this tourney NOT public! Thats like having a forum just for men, having almost all the men on CC in it, and then saying oops sorry... WTF....

This sounds like a twisting of the rules -- after the fact:
-IF >50% were RESERVED for Ball Busters, then I understand NS's point, but
-if <50% were Reserved for them. . .and the others just signed up BEFORE anyone else, I don't see a broken rule
-sounds like rules being made up after-the-fact

Like a bus full of white people is NOT racist, if they got on the bus and filled it before other minorities. Now if the Bus runs thru Whitey neighborhood and RESERVES, that's another story.

NS did leave open for discussion, so not trolling. . .them's my thoughts GLG

I actually intended to make a second one as OP won the first one and I wanted to let the ladies have another chance at the title. But having one in a team format would be very cool.

That's too bad, after all the work dazerazer has put into this and after she was given permission. I added 11 of the signups to the group only yesterday. That almost makes it seem like a technicality. If I had known this would happen, I would have waited until after the tournament started to add them to the group.

Ridiculous!

All the spots were open for any woman to sign up whether they're a member of ball busterz discussion group or not.

Just because other women don't happen to be taking advantage of a woman-only tournament does not negate the fact that THE TOURNEY IS OPEN TO THEM IF THEY WANT TO JOIN IT.

She even designed in player number/team flexibility to encourage others to join.

You shouldn't cancel the tournament just because no one else is joining, because it was OPEN to them to join it, which is what the rule requires.

It's too bad we can't get a petition going... I bet that if they were asked, that at least 90%+ would give us their blessing even if we weren't complying just because we are such a minority! (and they love us!) Dazey was following the rules, but there arent enough of us left here to do what your asking. couldn't you, just once give special consideration for a special uncommon event involving very special people? Honestly, do you think you would ever get any flack back if you allowed this to happen? You said that you talked to your other TD's? I'm curious, what did pony say? better yet, can we respond to everyone that gave input so that we can argue our point? Hopefully they would turn around and see things as we do? I mean, what would it hurt?

actually 100% of the spots are open to the public
it's just happened that most of the people signing up belong to this group.
