Actually, I think that the opposite should be true...if my site is the best, I would not be afraid of exposing my customers to a multi-site tournament. It would automatically:
-show/reinforce to my customers that my site is the best
-expose my site to a "interested" audience, some/many of whom will see what they have been missing and switch.

Lets use Apple, Google & Blackberry as an example. And in this case lets say Apple is the best. At a convention, as Apple, would you prefer to concentrate your efforts in a room of general population, where only some might be interested in an iPad or would you prefer to be in a room comparing the iPad to Android and Playbook to those who have tablets or are serious about them? I think the other 2 have more to lose than CC. Landgrab mostly, since MC are mostly ex-CC.

Anyone with half a brain would understand that marketing to an audience that is already interested produces more results than marketing to the general population. But you choose to focus on the analogy rather than the message... I guess you need the perfect analogy to understand the message....

I just came across the thread in the tournament forum, saw little response & thought I'd bring it up in a more active forum....I dont know what they're proposing, but I'm sure that they intend the games to be played on all sites.

no, i think anyone with a 1/4 brain would use a proper analogy and/or say what they mean... apple does not go to tech shows with the rest of the pc world... so if you are comparing CC to apple, then why would CC want to play in that tournament... i can only read what you write, not what is going on in your head while you write something completely unrelated...-el Jesus negro

Well, if you ever have a map idea that fails here, you know where you can go to play it!



And the only reason Lucus has not sued them for the star wars map is they have nothing to sue

I like the map finder and the fact that you can click the whole continent.
I dislike the way to find (available) games, not having all the info on screen when playing and the average map quality.

I like the clean interface at most pages, and I think it has a good (though small) community.
I dislike the map variety, not having all the info on one screen and the loading time when entering a game (flash..), and it will probably be hard to play it from my phone.

This site:
I like the page loading speeds, having all the info on one screen, the quality and variety of the maps and the big community.
I dislike finding playable games, farming mentality of some players and right-wing sympathies of a lot of players (on the forums) here.

To be honest, for me this site is still way ahead of the others (especially when it comes to the core activity, actually playing) and I find it hard to name my dislikes. So for me, this site is by far the best.

Or Strategy Game Network? Seriously, it sounds intriguing, but I don't see how you would organize it. I mean, what would make it the "best?" a bunch of 1v1 games, or a clan war format? Maybe a mix? Chained, unlimited, adjacent? Fog? Spoils? Maps with bombardments even? To different people, different parts of the game are most important or require the most skill, and I just don't think its feasible to unite 3+ sites on the terms when even on one site there is such diversity. You can't get everyone behind it, so it won't work, even if it is a nice idea. If they want to judge themselves against CC players, they can join and try to win the TPA, or start a clan and try for the CCup or Clan League title.

With all due respect bado...what is your projected date for 1533 users at one time?

I like majcom for the different options not to mention holding the number one spot for months the same way Ive liked all the sites for some different types of gameplay

But one thing I can say about the owner of this site, is even in private, he never talks badly about other sites no matter how small or pathetic. Hes genuinely a good guy, and just does his thing and probably has the utmost respect for those who do things differently.

Personally, I think it reeks of jealousy when I see such posts by you, and I know in 5 years Ive never seen anything posted by lackattack with the same air. I think its the one lesson other sites can learn from CC above all, and after playing on most of them, Id have to say its the one lesson they all seem to miss the most frequently.

It just comes off as so unprofessional that it has to portray that image in the eyes of people considering it.

I believe your most telling characteristic was when you called the community of CC a "ferile" group and that you planned to "control" your group of players much better. Well, it will be interesting to see if that can be done if you are planning on breaking the massive numbers of players, and simultaneously "controlling" the community. Very interesting indeed.

Personally, I dont think a real tourney could ever happen, for the simple fact that the freestyle option on CC is the most difficult in the world In my opinion, and I dont think outsiders could ever master it, so in a very real way, any tourney, would not be a real one.

At one point I very seriously considered running up the score on all of the sites, but at that same point, I very seriously considered backing away from all of them, which is exactly what I did....who knows though...maybe someday.

Land grab actually isn't that bad of a site, beside it being slow as hell... its got 2 min speeders (free for even freemiums)... you get coins for winning games, and eventually can use these coins to buy free premium instead of using cash... they have premium that you can buy for life for $60... they also have the 1 year premium for $20... that would be cool to get lifetime premium here for $50-$60. Plus the site is pretty up to date graphic wise on homepage and what not, although most maps are childish graphics, but there are a select few that are pretty decent graphic wise.

I played 5 games there already (all 2 min speeders) and won all 5... bad thing about the site is it seems like the players are noobs, if we did have a tourney with this site, they would be destroyed and all their players would come to learn how to play here before going back home.

I didnt start this thread but would like to say I think it would be good to have a little tourney.

Simply have members here play at LG and members at LG play here and involve any others sites we can too.

What do you say? Would be an education for all of us.

Noobs play RT games because they are free. Talking VERY generally I would say the majority of better players play long term games on 24, 36, 48 hour timers or some play longer.

Like I've said I'm up for a friendly competition and looking around some sites.
Tournaments are what I live for!
