OK. We're officially full up and ready to play as soon as I get privileges. I will send out the games by invitation and you will have 24 hours to join your game. I will continue to accept reserves until all first round games are underway. May the literal and literary battles commence!

OK, Round 1 games are out. My apologies to those few players who got two invites. A game had to be dropped due to a typo causing an accidental invitation. In case you're curious, it turns out there is (or was) indeed a player named [player]emk[/player].

I did not see it but are you going to list the best haiku someplace?

It would be great to see what others came up with that are winners.

I had originally intended to only list the poet, but I can just as easily list the winning poems in the spoiler for each round as well.

I would recommend documenting your two previously unstated rules.... the haiku must be in game chat before the game ends, and also the person who wins the game can also win the haiku contest, causing only one person to advance from that game. Neither of those were clear to me from your original post.

Per Swifte's request, here is the official notice:

There are two methods of ensuring a spot in the next round and they are not mutually exclusive. A winner of a game may have the best haiku. This simply means only he or she will be advancing from that game. This was my intent all along and I apologize for not explicitly stating it if there was any confusion.

Also, I did completely forget to mention that all haiku must be submitted in the game chat. My bad. As there were no haiku on my wall or in my inbox, however, it seems you all got my message. Excellent.

Lastly (and perhaps most importantly), almost all the games have finished and the winning poets and poems have been posted under the Round 1 spoiler back on the first page. Thanks to all who participated and good luck to those moving forward.
