Hello everybody, just been reading through your messages tonight, giving us all a source of comfort right now, thanks to one & all...

The better news I can share with you all is that David had a helluva rough day yesterday with lines being changed and he was given pint of blood ...mum left him shattered and she was as tired as him I think...the change today has been great...

I have to choose my words carefully but we are hoping he has started to turn the corner...he regained consciousness today and is aware of us, how he is, what is being done to him and he is nodding his head when he wants to confirm something. He is obviously still in a lot of pain and his kidneys aren't working at all (yet) but we have read out the various posts & your messages of support...I showed him a pic of the hamper that was generously sent buy THOTA members and he is taking it in.
It's great to have him back. He had DIC complications and the side effects can be awful including loss of hearing but we know today he can hear us and his limbs are also moving.He still has a separate infection however blood platelet count continues to increase. Hopefully his breathing tube will be removed this week or at the very least he will receive a tracheostomy and become more comfortable with it.
He has music on tap when he needs it although not to nurses taste...Sparklehorse, Magnetic Fields, WHY?, Johnny Cash, Townes van Zandt, etc.
We are hopeful; he may get some recognition of sports events via Radio 5 and if he wants we will put this on tomorrow so he can listen to bits of the World Cup, wimbledon & the cricket .

The stein is a wonderful gesture thanks DBZ ( no doubt many individuals will be after one now!) and it will be used but your messages of support are terrific and I believe are helping him

Anyway, just wanted to update you all...we hope he continues to improve tomorrow and a bit at a time.

Just keep strong Ian...you got to hold the misses and your other son all together. Glad he's going in the right direction for sure .
