9 and 10 player games.

Specifics
9 player games in the New World map and 10 player games in the World 2.1 map (only examples).

How it will improve the site
-with 9 players, you can have 3 triples teams playing
-with 10 players, you can have 5 doubles teams playing or 2 quintuples teams playing
-when applied to non-team games, the intensity and stake is increased because the number of players has increased

then i think 12 players would be the next update, because 12 is the perfect number you can divide it by 2, 3, 4, and 6. the only number you can't divide it by is 5

now only wait for maps big enough to play with 12 players..

btw, it will take like 4 days maybe longer before you can take 1 turn, depending on how fast the other players take their turn it can take anything between a few days to almost 2 weeks for 1 turn to complete

most maps still hardly even support the 8 players we have now, besides, you'll need 10 different colors, and 10 different 'colorblind letters' (like b for blue, s for slate (grey)) etc.

and like i said, 12 would be much better:

12 players would allow:

up to 6 teams of doubles
up to 4 teams of triples
up to 3 teams of quaddriples
up to 2 teams of whatever a team of 6 is called

No matter what the update, you actually do not need the "Color Codes" to represent the colors. Since the codes are supposed to be a standalone if someone cannot actually see color (most severe case) we can just letter the players A-H (for now) and A-Z for 26 players if it comes to that.

wow if 26 players did ever come around (which is highly unlikely), it might take one month for a team sequetial game to complete one round, imagine that...

IF you'd like to bump, consider at least contributing something to get the discussion going again. If you provide a thought, either a reiteration or a new one, people are more likely to respond and assist your suggestion. If people open a topic, and see the last few posts are bumps, a portion of people will just skip onto a new thread, figuring it dead.

So in summation, keep the discussion going. Bring up interesting points, flaws, new ideas, etc, but refrain from dead bumps. Additionally, it also helps to keep a running post of "positives" vs "negatives". It is easier for Lack and the rest of Conquer Club's users to understand the points on either side quickly, without having to read through a whole topic.

IT SHOULD ONLY BE AVAIBLE AS AN OPOTION IN SOME MAPS...

okay, I've pointed out the good points, now it's time for the bad ones...
1.It is very pointless to have 9 and 10 player games in maps with little territories, especially Doodle Earth. In a Doodle Earth assassin 10 player game, whoever takes their turn first has a good chance of winning and beating everybody else when the victory was solely based on luck. However, 9 and 10 player games can be added as optional (as suggested by War Dog), where only maps with at least (insert number) territories can be played with the option.
2.If light green and purple were used for colour codes, some ppl may find it hard to differetiate between dark green and light green (though this probably wouldn't be a big concern).
3.9 and 10 player game has a good likelihood of delaying sequential games (especially team ones), since there are now more players.

I cannot think of any more, feel free to add any comments!

I think that there should be several maps made that are especially designed for games with 9+ players rather than putting the option of 9 and 10 players on all maps or on several.

(If special maps were made, we could continue it up even further for player aka. a super scrolling map that can only be used by a minimum of 9)

Anyone interested in taking over this idea? I have little left to contribute...

heres an idea when u pick how many players are playing the numbers 9 and 10 will be there./ however when u pick them certian maps will automatically fade and u will not be able to choose them.

10 player games = too easy for cross map medal

For the cross map medal, you could add a "maximum of x people counted toward cross map medal per game won"

Since we already have different player limits for different maps (AOR), then why not have a different player limit for all the maps? Most existing game boards would be still capped at 8, but we could allow 9 player games in New World, and 10 player games in 2.1, and then decide with new maps on an individual basis.

I think New World has 8 starting points so it wouldn't be a good idea...

New World has nine starting points... that's why I said what I did.

I've just changed my mind to a "yes" in the poll.

Nine and Ten player games would be particularly good for the genuinely casual gamer.

(As opposed to the rest of us who justify our addiction by insisting that it only takes a few minutes every day to take our turns ;))
