Now that Game Finder tells me unique defeats for everything a lot of my saved Map Ranks were redundant. I deleted all of them. I then created some new ones that were either the same as deleted ones but with new names or just entirely brand new. They were worked for a while but were replaced by original list of saved Map Ranks for reasons beyond me. I deleted the originals (pt. deux) and re-did the new versions. Same thing happened again! The originals keep coming back.
I have no idea how to recreate this. All I know that is that it has happened twice now and is a bit frustrating. Tell me what you need from me in order to look into it.
Much appreciated.
Did Firefox crash or did you close it down when it took too long to get to a web page after deleting, something like that?
I think you might need to uninstall associated preferences unfortunately. That will mean a full rescan, and setting the options checkboxes again.

So, it's more convenient to type your name into "And Player" instead of "With Player", is that right?
Yes that's right.

I seem to be missing a few games out there, particularly my victory on Cairns Coral Coast (Map Rank swears I've only cross-mapped 59 maps, when CC says otherwise). Is it a missing logs problem?

First thing to check is the total number of games played. If that is correct then so is the crossmaps number.
Next thing to note is that recently finished games take a while to get into the system marked as a finished game so you may have to wait a while if the total number of games played is short. Recently there has been a problem with games moving out of your recently finished page but checking the number of games is a start.
Missing logs do not affect medals at all, just points.
it's always worth trying a full rescan - toggle the Rank and Points checkbox and scan in between.

I know this has been mentioned before, but I searched for awhile and I couldn't find a definitive answer. Is there any way at all you could make it so that it doesn't just disappear as soon as you try to multitask? I mean, it takes a while to get through all the calculations if you've played a lot of games, but as soon as you try to do something else during that time, it just disappears!
For instance, I'm trying to start games with the right number of players in them for each of the maps that I don't yet have 5 unique opponents, but between each game I create, I have to rerun the scan!
Anyway, excellent program. I'm so relieved. I was actually searching each map and keeping tallies before this.
Thanks!

Do you have the latest version?
The latest version will save all of your info if you use the left hand menu and select All maps with your name.
So the second time you use it, it only does a comparison and should be very fast (Firefox 3 is much faster with Map Rank anyway).
Check the "Display Icons" checkbox in the options submenu.
Once you have saved data, go to the game finder and you will see a blue number next to each map telling you how many unique defeats per map.
So you shouldn't have to do repeated scans.

Map Rank is not working for me anymore.
No matter how many times I install it, it's not showing up on the left panel.
A few days ago it was working.
I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it again but to no avail. Any idea what could be wrong please?

Are you getting any errors?
If you don't have Firebug, install it and then see if there are any errors you can give me, please.
(I assume you're using Firefox?)

Yes, I am using FireFox.
I haven't got FireBug installed but I didn't get any errors while installing it. It just won't show on the left panel anymore!

It's probably not showing in the left panel because an error has occurred at startup just before you see the menu appear.
Firebug would give information about the error in the bottom right corner of your Firefox window like
2 errorsDouble clicking on that would open a Firebug console giving details.
One thing you could try before doing that if you haven't already is uninstall the associated preferences and try again (clean default install).
(There is a checkbox next to the Uninstall button so check it)
Failing that I'll need to see what Firebug says (it's free btw).

I have a message scontent[1] is undefined, line 1174. However since there is no date I don't know if this error is related.

Uninstall associated preferences.
You need to uninstall Map Rank, ensuring you check the box labelled "Uninstall associated preferences" next to the Uninstall button
in Tools->Greamonkey->Manage User Scripts
Then reinstall and run.

Thanks for the great add-on. It's really focused me on playing all the different maps.
There's one thing I can't figure out. I'm sure it's really obvious. The blue numbers next to the maps and game options don't seem to be updating. Is there a time lag of a few days between winning a game and them updating? I've tried rerunning and reloading/resaving the map rank search but no update.
For instance, I got a terminator medal on 24 July. But the blue numbers are still stuck on 17 even though now I have passed 20.
Any advice would be welcome.

Also - just to check - you do have to rerun Map Rank from your left bar - to pick up your new results...
Now that it holds the data - it only needs to read the new data - so is much quicker than your first run.

All right! Thanks yeti_c. You cracked it. I was rerunning from the Game Finder screen rather than from the left bar. As soon as I did that, everything was updated.
Great, Thanks.

Read this:
viewtopic.php?f=59&t=53395&st=0&sk=t&sd=aIt's a straightforward addition. You have some missing logs also.

Mine displays the incorrect score for me, but it accounts for all my games? At least it finishes with the correct amount of games.
